In some embodiments, the cartridge includes a cup, a lid, and a beverage component disposed in the cup. The beverage component can include a soluble beverage component and a non-soluble beverage component. In certain instances, the beverage component in the beverage cartridge can include a first layer of non-soluble beverage component and a second layer of soluble beverage component. In other instances, the beverage component can include a first layer of soluble beverage component and a second layer of non-soluble beverage component.
