  • Patent number: 8800544
Abstract: A locking system for an appliance that includes an oven and a door for the oven. The locking system includes an oven door lock device that is selectively switchable between a locked position and an unlocked position, a flame sensor configured to detect a flame within the oven, and a controller communicatively coupled to the flame sensor. The controller is configured to switch the oven door lock device to its locked position thereby securing the door in its closed position when a flame inside the oven is detected.
