The card module is configured to be removably inserted into an opening formed in a front face of an electronic device. A header is mounted on a circuit board of the electronic device. The header has an electrical contact electrically coupled to the circuit board. The electrical contact is configured to engage the back end connector of the card module. A rail system extends between the header and the opening formed in the front face of the electronic device. The rail system is configured to receive the card module inserted into the opening and align the back end connector of the card module with the electrical contact of the header so that the back end connector engages the electrical contact The card module is removable from the rail system through the opening.

Abstract: A method of predicting user input to a mobile terminal is presented. The mobile terminal creates a raw user input data record comprised of input to the mobile terminal. A contextual data record is appended to the raw user input data record and both are stored. Another process processes the records contained in the raw user input database to identify repetitive patterns of user input. Identified patterns are stored in a recognized input pattern database. The mobile terminal then monitors current input and compares it to the repetitive patterns stored in the recognized input pattern database. Upon matching the current input to a repetitive pattern within a specified tolerance, the mobile terminal prompts the user to allow the mobile terminal to complete the process of inputting the data.

A method of exchanging personal financial data between a portable wireless device running a mobile financial application software program and a master financial application software program residing on a separate computer is described. The mobile financial application program stores mobile e-commerce transactions conducted on the portable wireless device. The mobile financial application program establishes a connection with the master financial application program either automatically or upon user initiation. Once a connection is established, financial data is exchanged between the mobile and master financial applications thereby keeping them synchronized and up to date. The connection between the mobile and master financial application program includes a wireless network and can also include a wired network.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for preparing quinoline-substituted carbonate and carbamate compounds, which are important intermediates in the synthesis of 6-O-substituted macrolide antibiotics. The process employs metal-catalyzed coupling reactions to provide a carbonate or carbamate of formula (I) or (II) or a substrate that can be reduced to obtain the same.
