  • Publication number: 20250065988
Abstract: A longitudinally folding marine cleat can include a base having a first fastener retention slot and a second fastener retention slot, each having a first jaw and a second jaw defining opposing opening surfaces and opposing retention surfaces. The opposing retention surfaces can be spaced apart at a distance configured to receive a square portion of a carriage bolt therebetween to fix the fastener in axial rotation with respect to the base, and the opposing opening surfaces can be spaced apart at a distance narrower than a distance across the square portion of the fastener, but at a width permitting a shank portion of the fastener to laterally pass through. A cleat head can be hingedly coupled to the base with first and second legs, which together with the base are configured as a four-bar linkage to transition the cleat head between deployed and stowed positions.

  • Publication number: 20250065987
Abstract: A marine cleat with fastener retention is provided. The marine cleat can be a folding cleat and can include a cleat body configured to operably couple to a mounting surface of the watercraft, and a cleat head extending away from the cleat body. The cleat head can have first and second projections configured to receive a portion of a line, e.g., for mooring the watercraft. A bottom side of the cleat body can include first and second fastener retention slots, each having an insertion cavity that is configured to receive a head of a fastener therein, and a retention end that is configured to laterally receive the head of the fastener and fix the fastener in both axial translation and axial rotation with respect to the cleat body. The insertion cavities of the first and second fastener retention slots can be positioned outwardly from the retention ends.

  • Publication number: 20250010949
Abstract: A scupper plug for selectively sealing a scupper hole is provided. The scupper plug can include a tapered sealing surface and one or more legs extending from the tapered sealing surface. The legs can include tapered retention surfaces positioned at a distal portion of the legs, and stopping shoulders adjacent to the tapered retention surfaces. The scupper plug can have a central cavity extending between the first and second legs and defining first and second cutouts extending through the first and second legs. When in a closed position, the tapered sealing surface can be positioned to sealingly contact a scupper surface in the scupper hole to prevent water flow through the scupper hole, and when in an open position, the tapered retention surfaces can be positioned to contact the scupper surface to retain the scupper plug in the open position to permit water flow through the scupper hole.

  • Publication number: 20230009344
Abstract: A fishing rod holder includes a tubular member having an elongate channel portion and a collar portion. The upper end of the channel portion has a U-shaped lip that extends rearwardly and a slot that engages the U-shaped lip. A collar portion extends over the elongate channel. A ramp extends from a bottom end of the elongate channel portion. The tubular member receives a handle end of the fishing rod such that the handle end engages and slides down the angled ramp until the fishing rod engages a bottom end of the collar portion. Another portion of the fishing rod engages the U-shaped lip and slot, providing a secure engagement with the fishing rod.
