  • Patent number: 4425018
Abstract: An electrical connector block comprising plug and/or socket units mechanically coupled together side by side. Each unit has an insulating housing of rectangular cross section. One pair of opposite sides has a dovetail tongue and groove perpendicular to the plugging direction, and the other pair has a dovetail tongue and groove parallel to the said direction. This construction prevents coupled units from being pulled apart when plug and socket blocks are plugged or unplugged.

  • Patent number: 4400051
Abstract: An electrical plug and socket connector has in the socket part a contact consisting of a contact pin identical to that of the plug part, combined with a cage which fits loosely in the socket housing, embraces the contact pin and incorporates a contact spring, thus isolating contact pressures within the contact assembly so that the housing is not stressed. The contact pin is retained by a snap-in retainer. The plug part has an identical pin and retaining means.

  • Patent number: 4270835
Abstract: A clip-on electrical terminal block has an earth terminal which grips one flange of a channel-section support rail with outwardly turned flanges. To prevent the earth terminal from drifting in the case of a flange of tapered cross section, a clamping member of the flange not only engages the underside of the flange but also has an inner arm which engages the internal surface of the channel-section rail. A single clamping screw clamps together the earth conductor, the clamping member of the terminal, and the flange of the support rail, by means of a lower arm of the clamping member. To facilitate access to the clamping screw in the case of a terminal block with stacked terminals, the region of the terminal block housing containing the earth terminal may be laterally offset.

  • Patent number: 4239324
Abstract: An electrical terminal block for a printed circuit has upper and lower rows of terminals in a stepped configuration, the terminals in the upper row being laterally offset relative to those in the lower row by half the width of a terminal. The front edges of the upper row terminals rest on the terminals of a bottom row, and retaining plates are provided at the ends of the rows. The terminals are all of the same type. If only a single lower row is provided the rear of the upper row can be supported on a supporting wall. Alternatively a second lower row can be provided.
