Abstract: The present invention is embodied in an audio transducer that exhibits excellent audio characteristics. The present invention includes a single, curved planar diaphragm that is mounted at its driven end between a pair of spaced-apart linear magnets. The diaphragm is curved in an asymmetric shape similar to that of a curved resilient spring. i.e. the radius of curvature of the diaphragm increases continually along the length of the diaphragm. The speaker of the present invention exhibits excellent characteristics when mounted to a flat surface such as a wall, making it particularly well-suited for use in video applications.
