Patent number: 12147736Abstract: A method for comparing two or more three-dimensional (3D) object model by evaluating at least one 3D triangle from each received triangular mesh data. For each reference triangle, the method includes identifying one or more adjacent triangles using conditions for congruence of triangles and performing neighbor facet edge hashing to produce an object hash value for each of the at least one 3D triangle. The method includes comparing the object hash value to one or more reference hash values assigned respectively to one or more 3D object models. The method includes determining whether a match exists between one or more 3D object models and the reference object based upon an amount of matching of obtained hash values. In one or more embodiments, a method compares 3D triangle objects, such as a prior scan of the same object, to determine deviations over time or the subtraction or addition of sub-parts.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2022Date of Patent: November 19, 2024Assignee: Physna Inc.Inventors: Glenn Warner, Paul Powers

Patent number: 11422531Abstract: A method, in each of three orthogonal orientations, obtains dimensional layers of triangular mesh data of the 3D object from a slicer program. Perimeter length values for each layer of each of the three orthogonal orientations are obtained and compared to stored perimeter length value for a reference object to determine a degree of matching. Measurement data is facilitated by processing by CNC/3D print software. Smaller objects within the 3D object are also analyzed. For a more robust approach, each triangle in the triangular mesh data is analyzed by totaling the perimeter of surrounding triangles to assign a value. Matching with the reference object is made based on the assigned total perimeter values. The 3D object can be scaled in one, two or three orthogonal dimensions to match the reference object.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 2018Date of Patent: August 23, 2022Assignee: Physna Inc.Inventors: Glenn Warner, Paul Powers

Patent number: 7532810Abstract: A portable heater incorporates a housing, heating element, outlet for heat generated by the heating element, and diagnostic testing capabilities that test for defective or abnormal conditions of various safety features and report their status. The features include an object sensing or cover detect function, which operates to disconnect the heater from the primary power source in the event an object is detected that may obstruct the heater outlet, a tilt sensor, which detects whether the heater has been tilted, a fuse, and a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) breaker. The diagnostic testing function preferably receives power directly from the primary source of power to enable the status of the tests to be displayed whenever the heater is plugged in. Light emitting diodes preferably provide backlighting to icons representing the various features to indicate their status to the user.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2006Date of Patent: May 12, 2009Assignee: Sunbeam Products, Inc.Inventors: Jaideep Jayaram, Paul Powers, Robert Sherwood, Carlos Alberto Natividad

Patent number: 6308939Abstract: A humidifier includes a housing, a wick, a fan, and a wick change indicator. The housing has a upper and bottom portions. The bottom portion is formed with an air inlet and a reservoir. The reservoir holds water while supporting the wick. The wick is seated in the reservoir so that it is partially submerged in the water. The upper portion is formed with an air outlet with the fan mounted therein generally above the top of the wick. The wick change indicator generally includes at least one hygrometer and a display. At least one hygrometer is positioned within the airflow for measuring the exit-relative humidity of the airflow. The display is coupled to the hygrometer for indicating when the wick requires replacement based upon the measured exit-relative humidity reaching a predetermined value.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 2000Date of Patent: October 30, 2001Assignee: The Holmes GroupInventors: Yigal Offir, Neville R. Glenn, Paul Powers, Robert S. VannRox
