Patent number: 7178241Abstract: A shaving assembly includes a grippable body having an upper end, a lower end, and one or more side walls extending therebetween. The body includes a storage reservoir for holding a fluid shaving preparation. The storage reservoir is enclosed by the upper and lower ends and the one or more side walls of the body. The upper end of the body has a razor cartridge receiving area for having one or more razor cartridges attached thereto. The upper end of the body also has a plurality of openings adjacent the razor cartridge receiving area and in communication with the storage reservoir. A pedestal is disposed within the storage reservoir. The pedestal is selectively movable between the lower and upper ends of the body for urging the fluid shaving preparation through the plurality of openings at the upper end of the body to dispense the shaving preparation around the razor cartridges.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 2000Date of Patent: February 20, 2007Assignee: Eveready Battery Company, Inc.Inventors: Michael J. Cummings, Andrew J. Pennella, Paul R. Dansreau, Michael J. Sasuta

Publication number: 20040226178Abstract: An ergonomic handle for a shaving implement includes a head section and a body portion. The body portion has a width and height with the ratio of the width to the height being approximately 1.1 to approximately 1.4 along a length defined by the body portion.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 18, 2004Publication date: November 18, 2004Applicant: Eveready Battery Company, Inc.Inventors: Sean Lukan, Thomas A. Publication number: 20040181953Abstract: In a shaving implement a handle includes a shaving head that defines an interior area. An actuator is coupled to the shaving head for movement between a neutral position, and a cartridge ejecting position. The cartridge retainer includes a portion projecting outwardly from the shaving head defining at least one cartridge engaging surface adapted to slidably engage a complimentarily shaped slot that extends longitudinally of a rear surface defined by a razor cartridge mounted to the shaving implement. The razor cartridge is releasably coupled to the cartridge retainer so that it is movable between a non-rotated and a rotated position with the cartridge being urged toward the non-rotated position in response to an externally applied force.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 24, 2004Publication date: September 23, 2004Applicant: Eveready Battery Company, Inc.Inventors: Thomas A. Follo, Paul R. Dansreau, Max Arthur Lembke, John F. Pacilio

Patent number: 6792682Abstract: A razor cartridge is provided that includes a seat, a cap, one or more razor blades, and a relief centrally located in an aft face of the cap. The relief enables the user to get the cutting edges of the one or more razor blades in closer proximity to a feature (e.g., a nose) than is possible using currently available razor cartridges. In a preferred embodiment of the cartridge, a shaving aid strip is disposed in the contact face, positioned aft of the forward face of the cap and forward of the relief. The shaving aid strip preferably reflects the contour of the aft face of the cartridge that includes the relief.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2002Date of Patent: September 21, 2004Assignee: Eveready Battery Company, Inc.Inventors: Thomas A. Follo, Paul R. Dansreau

Publication number: 20040103538Abstract: A razor blade cartridge has a movable guide unit including a spacer and a plurality of fingers shaped and sized so that when the guide unit moves frontward between a leading blade and a following blade spaced rearward from the leading blade, the fingers engage skin flowing into space between the leading and following blades to decrease contact between the skin and the cutting edge of the following blade.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 19, 2003Publication date: June 3, 2004Applicant: Eveready Battery Company, Inc.Inventors: Paul R. Dansreau, Paul D. Richard, Mark S. Peyser

Publication number: 20040103545Abstract: A shaver handle has an outer layer made from a compressible elastomeric material and formed around an inner rigid core. The elongated outer layer is provided with a series of spaced fins having a substantially uniform aspect ratio D:T, wherein D is a depth of each individual fin viewed in a direction transverse to a longitudinal axis of the shaver handle and T is a thickness of each of the fins viewed in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis, the aspect ratio is greater than the depth D.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 19, 2003Publication date: June 3, 2004Applicant: Eveready Battery Company, Inc.Inventor: Paul R. Patent number: 6615498Abstract: A razor assembly having a razor cartridge designed for pivotal, swivel and torsional movement during shaving includes a handle and a flexible member having a first end connected to the handle at a pivot axis, a second free end extending beyond the handle and a longitudinal axis extending through the first and second ends of the flexible member. The razor cartridge, which has a major axis and one or more razor blades, is pivotally connected to the second free end of the flexible member for pivoting about an axis that is substantially parallel to the major axis of the razor cartridge. In addition, the second free end of the flexible member, and the razor cartridge pivotally connected thereto, are movable along an arcuate path centered at the pivot axis and are rotatable about an axis substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the flexible member.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 2000Date of Patent: September 9, 2003Assignee: Warner-Lambert CompanyInventors: Brian F. King, Paul R. Dansreau, Michael J Sasuta

The reusable handle includes a grip portion pivotally attached to a cartridge seat. The replaceable cartridge includes a frame and one or more razor blades. The replaceable cartridge is fixedly attached to the cartridge seat of the reusable handle. The replaceable cartridge is selectively separable from the cartridge seat to permit removal of the replaceable cartridge from the reusable handle.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 19, 2002Publication date: June 26, 2003Inventors: Thomas A. Follo, Paul R. Dansreau, Andrew J. Pennella
