  • Patent number: 7313725
Abstract: A method of restoring a computer system to a state it was in when it left the factory starts with receiving a request for a new disk drive for the system. An extended parts list for the computer system is retrieved from a database or other data repository and written on the new disk drive. Software to restore the system, including operating system software and application software is also provided on the new disk drive. When the new disk drive is installed, the restoration software uses the extended parts list to select operating system software and application software to restore the computer and reboot the computer with the restored software.

  • Patent number: 6748524
Abstract: The display and recordation of non-volatile memory (NVM) changes is disclosed. In one embodiment a computer comprises a central-processing unit (CPU), a storage device, a NVM such as a CMOS, and a program. The NVM stores a plurality of configuration settings. The program permits changes to be made to the configuration settings, and maintains a history file of changes previously made to the configuration settings.

  • Patent number: 6092659
Abstract: A shipping container which inhibits improper orientation by its shape and also provides protection for its contents. The container has a number of side panels, a top end and a bottom end. A top closure covers the top end and a bottom closure covers the bottom end. The top closure projects above the top end to a preselected height and by it shape inhibits placing the container on the top closure. The bottom closure is recessed within the container to a depth at least as deep as the height of the top closure so that a plurality of containers may be nested together. The container may also include a crush resistant structure as an integral part of the top closure or a separate insert. The structure has outer walls and inner load-bearing walls which inhibit the structure from collapsing when a compressive force is applied.
