  • Patent number: 10145621
Abstract: A multi-zone heat exchanger has a first end and a second end and a width divided into a plurality of parallel airflow zones. Each zone defines an airflow section of the heat exchanger that receives a portion of the airflow through the heat exchanger. A first tube of continuous construction is coupled to an inlet port and to an outlet port and forms a first refrigerant circuit spanning three or more passes from the first end to the second end. The first refrigerant circuit passes between at least two zones of the plurality of zones. A second tube of continuous construction is coupled to the inlet port and to the outlet port and forms a second refrigerant circuit spanning three or more passes from the first end to the second end. The second refrigerant circuit passes between the at least two zones of the plurality of zones.

  • Patent number: 10028594
Abstract: A merchandiser including a case that defines a product display area. The case includes a canopy that has a first air outlet in fluid communication with a primary air passageway within the case to direct a primary air curtain into the product display area, and a second air outlet in fluid communication with a secondary air passageway within the case to direct a secondary air curtain into the product display area. The merchandiser also includes a divider that is coupled to the canopy between the primary air passageway and the secondary air passageway. The divider provides airflow communication between the primary air passageway and the secondary air passageway upstream of the first and second air outlets.

  • Publication number: 20180142957
Abstract: A heat exchanger includes a coil having bends and tube passes disposed between the bends. The coil further has an inlet end and an outlet end and being continuous between the inlet end and the outlet end. The coil is defined by parallel microchannel passageways extending from the inlet end to the outlet end. The heat exchanger also includes a plurality of elongated fins spaced apart from each other between a first end of the heat exchanger and a second end of the heat exchanger. Each of the fins defines two or more apertures, wherein two or more of the tube passes extend through the same fin of the plurality of fins.

  • Publication number: 20170292770
Abstract: A refrigeration system having a refrigerant circuit including a condenser, a flow control device, an evaporator, and a compressor connected in series. The compressor is configured to circulate a cooling fluid through the refrigerant circuit. The refrigerant circuit has an inlet line fluidly connecting the condenser to the evaporator and a suction line fluidly connecting the evaporator to the compressor. A heater is positioned to heat the cooling fluid during a defrost mode, and a pressure control is coupled to the refrigerant circuit downstream of the evaporator. In the defrost mode, the pressure control apparatus is configured to increase system pressure during the defrost mode to maintain flow of refrigerant into the evaporator and to control flow of cooling fluid to the compressor.
