Patent number: 11806489Abstract: An inflation device includes a syringe body containing a bore. The bore holds a fluid that is used to inflate a separate device such as a dilation balloon. A plunger assembly slides within the syringe bore and contains a sealing member that forms a fluid tight seal with the syringe body. A shut-off valve is disposed within the distal end of the syringe body. The distal end of the syringe body has a fluid bypass channel fluidically coupled to the aperture of a connector. The shut-off valve has a spring-biased moveable piston with a bypass lumen contained therein, wherein the bypass lumen forms a fluid path between the bore and the fluid bypass channel when the pressure of the fluid is below a threshold value. The fluid path between the bore and the fluid bypass channel is interrupted when the pressure of the fluid is above the threshold value.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 2021Date of Patent: November 7, 2023Assignee: Entellus Medical, Inc.Inventors: Paul R. Lesch, Jr., Paul A. Vajgrt, Timothy B. Petrick

Publication number: 20230001093Abstract: An injector for injecting a medicament in a patient. The injector includes a container comprising a fluid chamber containing a first volume of a medicament, and an injection conduit associated with the fluid chamber for defining a fluid pathway therefrom to inject the medicament from the fluid chamber through the injection conduit to an injection location. The injector also includes a firing mechanism associated with the fluid chamber for expelling the medicament from the fluid chamber through the injection conduit, arid a volume-control mechanism operable to control a fraction of the first volume of medicament that is injected when the firing mechanism is actuated to inject the medicament.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 9, 2022Publication date: January 5, 2023Applicant: Antares Pharma, Inc.Inventors: Paul R. LESCH, Matthew H. RUST, Thomas E. KRAMER

Publication number: 20220379032Abstract: A jet injector that includes a prefilled syringe. The syringe includes a fluid chamber that contains a medicament. The syringe also has an injection-assisting needle, and a plunger is movable within the fluid chamber. A housing is configured for allowing insertion of the needle to a penetration depth. An energy source is configured for biasing the plunger to produce an injecting pressure in the medicament in the fluid chamber of between about 80 and 1000 p.s.i. to jet inject the medicament from the fluid chamber through the needle to an injection site.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 11, 2022Publication date: December 1, 2022Applicant: Antares Pharma, Inc.Inventor: Paul R. Lesch

Patent number: 10646662Abstract: An injection device that comprises a chamber configured for containing a substance to be injected and a needle operatively associated with the chamber and having a length sufficient to deliver the substance to an intradermal injection site. A collar surrounds the needle, defining a collar cavity. The collar also has a peripheral forward skin-contacting surface that surrounds and is radially spaced from the needle and injection site by an area that is sufficiently large to allow a patient's skin to move into the collar cavity to properly position the needle for intradermal delivery of the substance to the injection site to allow spread of the injected substance under the skin while inhibiting or preventing backpressure within the skin from forcing the substance out through the injection site.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2017Date of Patent: May 12, 2020Assignee: Antares Pharma, Inc.Inventors: Peter L. Sadowski, Paul R. Lesch, David L. Bremseth
