Patent number: 8739990Abstract: An upright support assembly for a gantry includes a base with primary ground engaging means, such as wheels and a stabilizing member which is pivotally connected to the support assembly so as to be moveable between a stowed position folded against the support assembly and a deployed position in which it engages the ground to hold the support assembly upright. The stabilizing member includes a ground engaging fitting at its outer end which is adapted to engage the ground in the deployed position to stabilize the support assembly in the upright position, and to engage and roll over the ground in the stowed position when the support assembly is lowered to the ground so that the base and primary ground engaging means can be lifted off the ground and the support assembly moved on the ground engaging fitting.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 2009Date of Patent: June 3, 2014Inventor: Paul Radmall

Patent number: 8727146Abstract: An adjust and lock mechanism includes a drive gear (16) rotatably mounted on a frame and adapted to engage a drive track (15) on a member (13) to allow adjustment between the frame (1) and the member by rotation of the drive gear, the drive gear being mounted on a drive spindle (17) that can move axially relative to the drive gear and which is normally spring loaded (34) into locking engagement with the frame and can be moved axially to disengage the locking engagement and allow the spindle to be rotated to operate the drive gear. A locking engagement is provided by a dog gear at one end of the spindle. A lock release button (32) and hand wheel (18) to rotate the drive gear are located adjacent one another for joint operation. A gear train connects the hand wheel to the drive gear.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 2008Date of Patent: May 20, 2014Assignee: Reid Lifting LimitedInventor: Paul Radmall

Patent number: 5924551Abstract: A conveyor comprising a pair of conveyor units each comprising a frame supporting a roller at each end over which a conveyor belt passes as a continuous loop in a channel defined by side walls of the frame, characterised in that the frames (3) of the two conveyor units (1,2) are connected together with respective runs of the conveyor belts (5) opposed face-to-face so that they and the respective side walls (6) along both sides define an enclosed conveying channel (8), at least one roller (4) of the frames (3) being driven by a motor (10) so that the opposed runs of the conveyor belts (5) move in the same direction to convey material therebetween, and a plurality of projections (15) are provided across the surfaces of the conveyor belts (5) so as to engage and support material vertically within the conveying channel (9).Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 1996Date of Patent: July 20, 1999Assignee: Rako Products LimitedInventor: Paul Radmall

Patent number: 5662209Abstract: The invention is directed to a conveying system comprising a plurality of portable conveyor units which may be arranged serially to form a conveyor feed path. Each conveyor unit includes a plurality of rollers, one of which is associated with an electric motor for supplying power to the conveyor, and a pair of quick-release electrical connectors. One of the electrical connectors is designed to receive an electrical cable from a preceding conveyor while the other electrical connector is designed to have an electrical cable extending between it and an electrical connector on a succeeding conveyor. The electrical connectors supply power to the electric motor. Depending on which electrical connector of the pair of electrical connectors serves as the inlet to electrical current, the direction of conveyor may be reversed.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 1995Date of Patent: September 2, 1997Assignee: Rako Products LimitedInventor: Paul Radmall

Patent number: 5230967Abstract: A battery comprises a stack of electrochemical cell units (1) each comprising a positive electrode (2), a solid electrolyte (3) and a negative electrode (4), the electrodes of the cell units being interconnected by means of a plurality of connector devices (7, 8) each comprising a base section (7a, 8a) connected to an electrode and a pair of contact sections (7c, 8c) extending from the cell unit, the devices (7, 8) being arranged in two stacks with the pairs of contact sections (7c, 8c) of the devices in each stack overlying one another to form two sets of contact sections, adjacent contact sections (7c, 8c) of each set being interconnected with successive interconnections throughout each stack of connector devices alternating between the two sets of contact sections. Unit cells may be connected in parallel or series. Connector devices (7, 8) of opposite polarity may be provided symmetrically either side of a centerline about which the unit cell (1) can be rotated 180.degree.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 1992Date of Patent: July 27, 1993Inventor: Paul Radmall

Patent number: 4636306Abstract: A fluid filtering system including two filter units so arranged in parallel that flow of fluid from a source to a point of usage can take place by way of only one unit at a time. Means is provided which can sense the degree of contamination of whichever one of the units is in service so that when the degree of contamination is such that the said one unit is no longer in a suitable condition for further filtering service, that means causes the by-passing of that unit and the bringing of the other unit into service. The system further includes back-flushing means which is automatically operable upon a filter unit when so by-passed for cleaning that unit. Timing means is also provided for automatically controlling the period of time during which back-flushing operation is permitted to continue.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 1985Date of Patent: January 13, 1987Assignee: Dowty Mining Equipment LimitedInventor: Paul Radmall
