Patent number: 11839350Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, devices, and methods for providing continuous, non-invasive blood pressure monitoring. A wearable monitoring device includes first and second transducer arrays separated by a fixed distance. Each of the transducer arrays includes a plurality of independent transducer elements for transmitting and receiving ultrasound energy. When a user wears the device, the transducers are positioned near the brachial artery. The device operates to measure the transit time of a cardiac pulse through the brachial artery and across the fixed distance between transducer arrays. The measured pulse transit time may then be used for determining pulse wave velocity and/or blood pressure.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 2019Date of Patent: December 12, 2023Assignee: MONOVO, LLCInventors: Jarom Shurtliff, Adam Kaleo Roberts, Jonathan Muñoz, Christopher Hogstrom, Steven Ray Taylor, Paul Randal Cloward

Publication number: 20210244281Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, devices, and methods for remotely measuring one or more vital signs of a patient, securely storing and communicating the resulting vital sign data, and configuring the vital sign data for secure access by a healthcare provider computer system to enable remote monitoring of the patients vital signs. One or more vital sign monitoring devices detect patient vital signs and securely transmit the resulting vital sign data to an external computer device such as the patients smart phone or abase station computer device. The external computer device communicates with a server system, such as a secure cloud storage system, which configures the vital sign measurement data and received patient identification data and makes it accessible to one or more healthcare provider computer systems.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 3, 2019Publication date: August 12, 2021Inventors: Paul Randal Cloward, Robert D Johnstun, Joshua S Horne, Adam Kaleo Roberts, Jonathan Muñoz, Steven Ray Taylor

Patent number: 10418818Abstract: Improved techniques for photovoltaic power generation are described. Inverter failure is can be a significant problem in solar photovoltaic systems as it can lead to loss of opportunity to harvest energy. A solar photovoltaic (PV) power generation system is described comprising solar PV panels and power conditioning units. A dc power distribution bus is coupled to the solar PV panels and the power conditioning units to switchably share dc power from the solar PV panels between the power conditioning units. Power distribution controllers detect a faulty power conditioning unit and reroute power from a solar PV panel coupled to the faulty power conditioning unit to other power conditioning units via the dc distribution bus.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2015Date of Patent: September 17, 2019Assignee: Tesla, Inc.Inventors: Lesley Chisenga, Paul Randal Engle, Jr., Gehan Anil Joseph Amaratunga, Andrew John Matthews

Publication number: 20190156370Abstract: A message targeting system enables content providers to define geophysical zones for which entering mobile electronic devices may receive messages. The targeting system catalogs messaging campaigns for client defined zones and stores them in a database. An exchange identifies mobile devices for targeting and auctions available display space thereon, providing the targeting system with geolocation and other device-specific data. The targeting system contrasts device geolocation data to client created zones to identify qualifying campaigns, selects one and issues its bid. If the targeting system wins the bid, the exchange transmits its contact information to the mobile device to enable it to contact the targeting system. If the device does so, the targeting system transmits the message to the device directly, even if the device has left the zone.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 5, 2017Publication date: May 23, 2019Applicant: SIMPLIFI HOLDINGS, INC.Inventors: PAUL RANDAL HARRISON, FROST RENE RAVENEL PRIOLEAU

Patent number: 9496803Abstract: We describe a photovoltaic (PV) power generation system comprising at least two PV panels and a power conditioning unit. The dc power outputs of the PV panels are connected in parallel to a dc power input of the power conditioning unit. The power conditioning unit comprises a dc-to-dc converter having an input coupled to the dc power input and an output coupled to a dc link of the unit, a dc-to-ac converter having an input coupled to the dc link and an ac mains power supply output, and an energy storage capacitor coupled to the dc link. The power conditioning unit is configured to perform maximum power point tracking (MPPT) responsive to a level of power flowing into the dc power input, and the level of power flowing into said dc power input is sensed at the dc link. In preferred implementations the energy storage capacitor is a non-electrolytic capacitor.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 2014Date of Patent: November 15, 2016Assignee: SolarCity CorporationInventors: Lesley Chisenga, Andrew John Matthews, Paul Randal Engle, Jr.

Patent number: 8246892Abstract: The invention relates to a method of controlling the quality of blocks that are produced front face-up in a mold, and verifying the accuracy of the production of such blocks, to ensure that the blocks are manufactured with consistent quality and minimal block-to-block variability. Measurement locations are formed on the front faces of predetermined blocks. By measuring the distances between the measurement locations and the rear faces and comparing with a target distance, any variation provides an indication that the blocks are not being properly formed. The process variables, such as the alignment of the compression head and/or the pressure plates to the mold, can then be adjusted accordingly.Type: GrantFiled: November 22, 2010Date of Patent: August 21, 2012Assignee: Anchor Wall Systems, Inc.Inventors: Paul Randal Tufts, Jimmie L. Publication number: 20060218144Abstract: The subject invention relates to systems and methods that perform consistency checks of user defined type (UDT) fragments utilizing a stream of data without wholesale copying of the data. Streaming consistency checks facilitate discovering invalid fragments as soon as possible such that the entire UDT fragment does not have to be read, stored, analyzed, etc. Additionally, a UDT fragment can be evaluated without being completely materialized; thus, systems and/or methods employing the subject invention can yield improved performance as compared to conventional techniques by reducing required resources and enabling faster detection of invalid structures.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 28, 2005Publication date: September 28, 2006Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventor: Paul Randal
