  • Publication number: 20240273101
Abstract: A graph database for outbreak tracking and management is disclosed. In an example embodiment, an outbreak management system includes a memory device storing instructions that define a graph database for disease outbreak tracking. The instructions specify for a given host that a host node is created and an episode node is connected to the host node via a ‘case’ link. The episode node is associated with episode parameters that are related to a disease classification of the host. In addition, the instructions specify that an outbreak node is connected to the episode node via a ‘part of’ link to indicate that the host has become part of an outbreak of the disease. The outbreak node is connected to a definition node via a ‘defined as’ link. The definition node specifies disease parameters of the disease for outbreak tracking.

  • Patent number: 11948112
Abstract: Pharmacy workflow management with alert integration. A pharmacy workflow management application may obtain alert data from an alert generation platform. In turn, the alert information may be provided to a user of the workflow management application within the application without having to divert from use of the application. The user may further utilize the pharmacy workflow application to access the alert generation platform. In this regard, the user of the pharmacy workflow management application may be in bidirectional communication with the alert generation platform to, for example, exchange resolution information in relation to an alert. The alert data may comprise any pertinent data related to pharmacy activity managed by the pharmacy workflow management application and in particular may include data related to infection control or antimicrobial stewardship.

  • Patent number: 11946570
Abstract: A fluid check-valve for venting gas from a fluidic system comprises a retention body defining a fluid aperture having an upstream side and a downstream side, a hydrophilic porous material held by the retention body and disposed to cover the fluid aperture, and a hydrophobic porous material held by the retention body and disposed to cover the fluid aperture and adjacent the hydrophilic porous material. One face of the hydrophilic porous material is in fluid communication with the upstream side of the aperture, and one face of the hydrophobic porous material is in fluid communication with the downstream side of the aperture. The hydrophilic porous material is configured to retain liquid from the upstream side to hinder passage of gas from the downstream side to the upstream side, and the hydrophobic porous material is configured to hinder passage of liquid from the upstream side to the downstream side.

  • Patent number: 11839350
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, devices, and methods for providing continuous, non-invasive blood pressure monitoring. A wearable monitoring device includes first and second transducer arrays separated by a fixed distance. Each of the transducer arrays includes a plurality of independent transducer elements for transmitting and receiving ultrasound energy. When a user wears the device, the transducers are positioned near the brachial artery. The device operates to measure the transit time of a cardiac pulse through the brachial artery and across the fixed distance between transducer arrays. The measured pulse transit time may then be used for determining pulse wave velocity and/or blood pressure.

  • Publication number: 20220336110
Abstract: A graph database for outbreak tracking and management is disclosed. In an example, an outbreak management system includes a memory device storing instructions that define a graph database for disease outbreak tracking. The instructions specify, for a given host, that a host node is created and an episode node is connected to the host node via a ‘case’ link. Additionally, the instructions specify that a rule node is connected to the episode node via a ‘found’ link. The rule node is associated with a workflow, an assignment, and a notification, and includes at least one defined condition. If a condition is satisfied for a case, the rule node is linked to the episode node. This leakage causes the workflow to be added for the episode node, the episode node to be assigned to an individual or a team, and a notification to be generated regarding an association with the rule.

  • Patent number: 11156555
Abstract: The present application discloses a spectroscopy probe for a Raman spectroscopy system, and methods for preparing filters for the probe. A method for forming an SERS substrate which can optionally be used with the probe is also described. The spectroscopy probe is formed using a double-clad optical fibre probe tip, the double-clad optical fibre (DCF) having a single mode core, multimode inner cladding, and outer cladding, and a micro-filter fixed to the distal end of the optical fibre probe tip. The micro-filter has a short pass or band pass filter configured to align with the DCF core to filter silica Raman background generated by laser excitation in the single mode core, and a long pass filter configured to suppress Rayleigh scattering from the sample while allowing Raman scattered wavelengths to be transmitted through the inner cladding.

  • Patent number: 10418818
Abstract: Improved techniques for photovoltaic power generation are described. Inverter failure is can be a significant problem in solar photovoltaic systems as it can lead to loss of opportunity to harvest energy. A solar photovoltaic (PV) power generation system is described comprising solar PV panels and power conditioning units. A dc power distribution bus is coupled to the solar PV panels and the power conditioning units to switchably share dc power from the solar PV panels between the power conditioning units. Power distribution controllers detect a faulty power conditioning unit and reroute power from a solar PV panel coupled to the faulty power conditioning unit to other power conditioning units via the dc distribution bus.

  • Publication number: 20190156370
Abstract: A message targeting system enables content providers to define geophysical zones for which entering mobile electronic devices may receive messages. The targeting system catalogs messaging campaigns for client defined zones and stores them in a database. An exchange identifies mobile devices for targeting and auctions available display space thereon, providing the targeting system with geolocation and other device-specific data. The targeting system contrasts device geolocation data to client created zones to identify qualifying campaigns, selects one and issues its bid. If the targeting system wins the bid, the exchange transmits its contact information to the mobile device to enable it to contact the targeting system. If the device does so, the targeting system transmits the message to the device directly, even if the device has left the zone.
