  • Publication number: 20160344999
Abstract: A system and associated method for capturing panoramic and stereoscopic image data can be utilized to produce panoramic and stereoscopic videos for use in conjunction with suitable virtual reality display devices. The system utilizes a camera arrangement consisting of a plurality of camera pairs positioned to capture a 360° environment. Each camera pair comprises a left-eye camera and a right-eye camera and the camera pair planes of each camera pair substantially parallel to each other. The camera pairs can be arranged in levels of varying heights in order to accommodate a greater number of camera pairs, thereby enhancing the resulting image data. Once the image data has been captured, left and right-eye panoramic videos are generated by merging the corresponding images from each left-eye camera at each time point, and each right-eye camera at each time point. The resulting videos can then be output for panoramic and stereoscopic viewing.

  • Patent number: 6970535
Abstract: A two way wireless hand held PDA device that allows remote mobile creation of messages and sending of those messages to recipients via different delivery modes. The recipients can be formed into groups by different criteria, the messages can be created or imported and edited from the remote device, and the messages can be delivered via more than one mode. Status of messages sent and in process is maintained as is account information related to the message and the user. Also messages can be formatted, and can be conditionally sent and receivers can perform automatic actions when specific messages are received. (And actions can be carried out in remote systems based on the responses to messages sent).

  • Patent number: 6388139
Abstract: A good yield, high reaction rate process is disclosed for the production of perfluoro(alkyl vinyl ethers). The process involves elimination of halogen, preferably chlorine, from carbon atoms &agr; and &bgr; to an ether oxygen in an &agr;,&bgr;-dihaloperfluoro ether wherein the &agr;,&bgr;-dihaloperfluoro ether is allowed to react with zero valent zinc in a pyrrolidinone solvent. More particularly, the inventive process relates to high yield production of CF2═CFOCF2CF2SO2F from CF2ClCFClOCF2CF2SO2F wherein CF2ClCFClOCF2CF2SO2F is allowed to react with zero valent zinc in the presence of N-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone.

  • Patent number: 5918960
Abstract: Detecting counterfeit banknotes is achieved by directing ultraviolet light at a sample from a source (104) and measuring the level of ultraviolet light reflected from the sample using a first photocell (104) and the amount of fluorescent light generated by the sample using a second photocell (106). The detected levels are compared with reference levels and only if both reflective and fluorescent criteria are satisfied is the note declared genuine. The sample, during test, is swiped over a glass window (102), preferably under an overlying shield.

  • Patent number: 5910615
Abstract: A process is disclosed for producing 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoropropane and/or 1,1, 1,3,3-pentafluoropropene from (CF.sub.3).sub.2 CHCOOH and/or its water soluble salts. The process involves providing a mixture containing water and such carboxy compound(s) which has a pH of less than about 4, and reacting the mixture at a temperature of at least about 75.degree. C. Certain ether compounds may be included in the mixture along with (CF.sub.3).sub.2 CHCOOH and/or its water soluble salts. The reaction of the carboxy (and optionally ether) compound(s) with water may be employed in connection with a process for producing tetrafluoroethylene and/or hexafluoropropylene by pyrolysis, where by-product perfluoroisobutylene is reacted with water (and optionally an alkanol) to produce (CF.sub.3).sub.2 CHCOOH (and optionally one or more ether compounds).

  • Patent number: 5777179
Abstract: A process for the production of perfluoromethyl perfluorovinyl ether (PMVE) and perfluoroethyl perfluorovinyl ether (PEVE) from hexafluoropropylene epoxide (HFPO) and a mixture comprising carbonyl fluoride (CF) and perfluoroacetyl fluoride (PAF) is disclosed. The process includes a step (a) involving the reaction of hexafluoropropylene epoxide (HFPO) with a mixture of carbonyl fluoride (CF) and perfluoroacetyl fluoride (PAF) to produce a mixture of 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoro-2-(trifluoromethoxy)propionic acid fluoride (PMPF) and 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoro-2-(pentafluoroethoxy)propionic acid fluoride (PEPF). In a second step, a mixture of PMPF and PEPF made in the step (a) is dehalocarbonylated to produce a mixture of PMVE and PEVE.
