  • Publication number: 20120330495
Abstract: A fault detection and diagnosis method for a gas turbine engines comprises collecting a sensor signal from an acoustic or vibrational sensor at the gas turbine engine, pre-processing the sensor signal to remove predictable background, and extracting a feature set from the sensor signal using Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) algorithms and/or Code Excited Linear Prediction (CELP) algorithms. Fault and non-fault states are reported based on comparison between the feature set and a library of fault and non-fault feature profiles corresponding to fault and non-fault states of the gas turbine engine.

  • Publication number: 20120330499
Abstract: A method for diagnosing faults in an aircraft gas turbine engine comprises gathering an acoustic profile from an on-wing turbine, transmitting the acoustic profile to an analysis system, comparing the acoustic profile with known fault profiles, and scheduling maintenance steps based on whether the acoustic profile matches one or more of the known fault profiles. The known fault profiles are retrieved from a library of the analysis system.

  • Patent number: 8335609
Abstract: A method of exposing and recording embedded avionics data using dynamically assigned labels assigns a first plurality of data labels to aircraft controller parameters designated for at least one aircraft sub-controller. A second plurality of data labels are dynamically assigned to desired embedded parameters of an aircraft main controller. At least one data word storing one of the desired embedded parameters is created. The at least one data word has one of the second plurality of data labels. The at least one data word is exposed by transmitting the at least one data word to a selective recording device. The selective recording device records the at least one data word.

  • Publication number: 20120191830
Abstract: The example avionic data communication management arrangement includes a common infrastructure having a first account and a second account. The first account is configured to receive and store avionic data collected from a first aircraft. The second account is configured to receive and store avionic data collected from a second aircraft that is from a different airline than the first aircraft. The avionic data within the first account and the avionic data within the second account can both be accessed or managed by an administrating entity.

  • Publication number: 20120015606
Abstract: An example avionic data communication method includes establishing a plurality of available channels using a channel controller. The channel controller also establishes a quality of service for each of the plurality of available channels. The channel controller then selects one of the available channels. The quality of service of the selected channel is not less than the quality of service of another channel within the plurality of available channels. The method then communicates a type of data using the selected channel.
