  • Patent number: 4516342
Abstract: An arrangement for exchangeably framing pictures includes a frame which has a profile cross section and a hook-shaped end portion and is arranged to hold a cover plate and a rearward plate which confine a picture therebetween. The frame cooperates with a resilient locking member which includes one portion arranged to rest against the rearward plate and another portion provided with a hook-shaped end which defines a groove. The hook-shaped end portion of the frame is engageable in the groove of the locking member so that the support face of the hook-shaped end of the locking member abuts against the hook-shaped end portion of the frame. The locking member is kept in its position and securely clamps the frame regardless of whether or not anchoring with a rivet located in the rearward plate is provided.

  • Patent number: 4348826
Abstract: A frame for front insertion of pictures and the like has a plurality of elongated frame elements which have inclined edges and are movable relative to one another between a proximal position and a distal position, and a plurality of connecting elements each connecting a pair of the frame elements in their corner region and including an angled member insertable into each pair of the neighboring frame element so that the latter can move over the angled member between these positions, a supporting member connected to the angled member and extending inside the frame so as to support pictures and the like, and two arresting members arranged to engage with and arrest the frame elements in each of these positions.

  • Patent number: 4212122
Abstract: Framing means for pictures and like objects includes a frame having a substantially L-shaped cross-section to define a front flange for supporting a picture holding set assembled of a transparent plate, a picture or the like object, resilient insert and a relatively rigid back board; the rear face of the frame is formed with juxtaposed pairs of inwardly directed, V-shaped projections which are spaced at such a distance from each other and from said front flange as to receive and hold in a fixed position said picture holding set while said resilient insert is in compressed state.

  • Patent number: 4078326
Abstract: A frame for pictures and like objects includes a plurality of frame parts which bound an opening in which the object is to be displayed and each of which has front and rear engaging portions spaced from each other. Intermediate the front and rear engaging portions of the frame parts, a transparent plate, the object to be displayed, a resilient elastically-compressible foam material insert, and a support plate which is connected with the frame parts are respectively located. The resilience of the insert urges the support plate against the rear engaging portions on the one hand and simultaneously urges both the object and the transparent plate against the front engaging portion on the other hand so as to be securely retained therebetween.
