Patent number: 10146050Abstract: A photography or videography imaging system includes a panoramic converter that can be used with a user-selected camera lens. The panoramic converter includes a dome port and a corrector group of lenses that corrects the aberrations caused by the dome port when the imaging system is placed in a liquid. The corrector group compensates a field curvature produced by dome port while preserving the angles, relative to an optical axis of the panoramic converter, of propagation paths of light rays entering the dome port. The angle, relative to the optical axis, of the propagation path of a light ray in the liquid prior to entering the dome port is approximately the same as the angle, relative to the optical axis, of the propagation path of the light ray propagating toward the camera lens after exiting the corrector group of lenses.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2016Date of Patent: December 4, 2018Assignee: Fathom Imaging Inc.Inventor: Paul Remijan

Publication number: 20180220878Abstract: An endoscopic has an fiber optic waveguide that transmits an image from a distal end to a proximal end, the waveguide having an outer diameter of less than 3 mm. A lens system is positioned at the distal end of the fiber optic waveguide. An imaging device is optically coupled to the proximal end of fiber optic waveguide. A disposable sheath extends about the fiber optic waveguide to provide a sterile barrier, and in a preferred embodiment the sheath includes an illumination channel. In a preferred embodiment, the lens system has a first lens element, a second lens element and an aperture stop.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 11, 2018Publication date: August 9, 2018Applicant: VisionScope Technologies LLCInventors: Paul Remijan, James E. Publication number: 20130046142Abstract: The present invention relates to a small diameter imaging probe or endoscope, a solid state imaging device, and a light transmitting path that collects light at a distal end of the probe and directs the light along the length of the probe to the imaging device. The invention also relates to a small diameter endoscope having a light transmitting path with a light absorbing layer and a super clad layer defining the image aperture. The invention relates to a small diameter endoscope system for imaging of objects or tissue within a body. An image relay is used to couple image light between optical elements of the probe such that an image is detected by an imaging sensor at a proximal end of the device.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 23, 2012Publication date: February 21, 2013Inventors: Paul Remijan, Denis Labombard

Patent number: 8317689Abstract: The present invention relates to a small diameter endoscope in which a handle is removably attached to a probe. The probe includes a fiber optic illumination channel that is concentric about an imaging channel. The handle includes an imaging device that detects light from the imaging channel and a sterile barrier that can be extended over the handle for use. Relay optics couples the small diameter imaging channel to the imaging device in the handle. The probe has a mounting hub that connects the probe to the handle and also serves to optically couple the fiber optic illumination channel to a light source.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2000Date of Patent: November 27, 2012Assignee: Visionscope Technologies LLCInventors: Paul Remijan, Denis LaBombard
