Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide an apparatus arranged to modify a scheduling profile according to a gesture of a user, the apparatus comprising a display unit for displaying scheduling profile display data a scheduling profile display data generating unit for generating scheduling profile display data representing the scheduling profile, and outputting the scheduling profile display data to the display unit, a user interface unit for tracking the gesture of the user and providing tracking data, a gesture data generating unit for generating gesture data representing the gesture of the user based on the tracking data, and a modifying unit for modifying the scheduling profile based on the gesture data, wherein the scheduling profile display data generating unit is also operable to generate scheduling profile display data representing the modified scheduling profile, and to output the modified scheduling profile display data to the display unit.

Abstract: An integrated journey planner deconstructs user enquiries into information requests, each specifying a journey part using a single transport mode, e.g., rail, car or coach. The planner sends each request to one of a plurality of local and on-line databases, each corresponding to a different transport mode. Responses from the databases are reconstructed into multi-modal travel option(s) for the user specified journey, incorporating different transport modes. The multi-modal travel option(s) incorporates timetable travel information and non-timetable travel information. Also, a user can specify a geographical location and a transport mode to find the most suitable terminals and services for uni-modal point to point travel.

Abstract: An integrated journey planner, or Comparison Navigator™, for providing travel information for a user specified journey comprises means for deconstructing a user enquiry specifying the journey into a plurality of information requests, each specifying a part of the journey using a single mode of transport, such as rail, car or coach. The Navigator also comprises means for sending each request to an appropriate one of a plurality of local and on-line databases, which each hold travel information regarding a different mode of transport. Further means are provided for reconstructing the responses to the requests received from the plurality of local and on-line databases into at least one multi-modal travel option, for the user specified journey, incorporating different modes of transport. Usually, the multi-modal travel option incorporates timetable travel information such as train timetables and non-timetable travel information.
