  • Patent number: 10977256
Abstract: The invention relates to a system and a method of identifying and managing IT assets that aggregates fields and their associated values from multiple event log data sources that share one or more common IT asset identifiers and leverages a prioritization approach to determine the most appropriate values for each of the fields. The system utilizes two inputs, namely event log data source inputs and prioritization inputs. Through aggregation of data from different input data sources, the system pieces together a more comprehensive record of field values for a given IT asset, to generate in real-time the updated asset inventory output.

  • Patent number: 8492921
Abstract: An energy harvester capable of providing motion from fluid flow, which comprises at least one Magnus cylinder driven to rotate by the movement of the fluid past a fin device. This causes the Magnus cylinder to rotate, and further interactions between the rotating Magnus cylinder and the moving fluid generate a Magnus lifting force. A channel or system may be also provided to direct the fluid flow to the Magnus cylinder. This rotating Magnus cylinder configuration is integrated into a mechanical device that is designed to transfer the Magnus lifting forces into a rotary mechanical motion to drive an electric generator. The device can be utilized in either air or hydraulic environments. A modification of the energy harvester can also be configured to utilize the generated electricity to produce hydrogen for use in fuel cells, or for combustion.

  • Patent number: 5651640
Abstract: A parasite mooring system is disclosed for restraining a compliant platform with respect to an auxiliary vessel. The parasite mooring system includes a parasite mooring line, a platform termination securing the parasite mooring line to the compliant platform; and a grip securing the parasite mooring line to a mooring line of the auxiliary vessel passing beyond the compliant platform. Another aspect of the present invention is a method for conducting offshore well operations in which a semisubmersible vessel is brought adjacent a compliant platform such that at least one mooring line of the semisubmersible vessel extends past the compliant platform and a parasite mooring line from the compliant platform is connected to the mooring line of the semisubmersible vessel.
