  • Publication number: 20070292508
Abstract: The present invention is directed to orally disintegrating dosage forms comprising lipid coated substrates and silicified excipients. The use of silicified excipients in the orally disintegrating dosage form along with lipid coating of active agents, allows for improvements in the ability to prepare these dosage forms. Further, the dosage form can prevent unpleasant taste or aftertaste and provide better chemical and mechanical stability of the coated active substrate. This present invention also provides the possibility of harder more durable tablets, along with targeted immediate or modified release profiles for the active agent.

  • Publication number: 20060276569
Abstract: This invention relates to an inhibited non-solubilized granular starch modified by less than 5% of a carboxylated polymer. In addition, a process is provided wherein a non-solubilized, substantially granular starch is mixed with a carboxylated polymer, dried to form a starch/carboxylated polymer blend and then physically treated to form a starch/carboxylated polymer composite. Further, this invention relates to the improved industrial and food products prepared from these starch/carboxylated polymer composites.

  • Publication number: 20040134649
Abstract: A truck-mounted carpet-cleaning system that replaces the separate heat exchangers used in conventional systems having a single unit. It also merges several exhausts before they are used in the exchanger. This allows the system to be able to better regulate the temperature of the water. This improved regulation eliminates the need for a water bypass system. Because of the improved heat exchange system, the solenoids, sensors, thermo relief valves, bypass orifices and other components found in traditional systems can be eliminated. This results in a more reliable system, with more tightly regulated water temperature.

  • Patent number: 6353604
Abstract: A bidirectional digital data communication system which generate phase coherent upstream clock and carrier signals from recovered downstream clock generated from a master clock in a central unit. The preferred species uses any downstream clock rate and generates a phase coherent upstream clock so long as the two clock rates can be related by the ratio M/N where M and N are integers. One embodiment uses an MCNS downstream and an SCDMA upstream and uses MNCN timestamp messages in the downstream to achieve an estimate of RU frame offset prior to establishing frame alignment using a ranging process. The use of timestamp messages to estimate the offset is aided by a low jitter method for inserting timestamp messages by avoiding straddling of MPEG packet headers with the sync message. Clock slip is detected by counting upstream clock cycles over a predetermined downstream clock interval and the RU transmitter is shut down if slip is detected to prevent ISI interference from misaligned codes.

  • Patent number: 6251825
Abstract: A new re-transfer intermediate sheet comprising a supporting substrate having on one side an imageable layer and on the other a backcoat, is provided for thermal transfer printing of an article having a dye-receptive surface, by thermal retransfer. This method of printing comprise the steps of pressing together a dye-donor sheet and the imageable layer of the retransfer intermediate sheet, forming an image in the imageable layer by thermal transfer printing, pressing the thus-formed image-containing layer against the dye-receptive surface of the article, and applying heat to the intermediate sheet to effect retransfer of the image to the dye-receptive layer of the article. To improve protection against the physical conditions experienced in such retransfer process, the backcoat of the new intermediate sheet comprises a polymeric binder and a high loading of protective filler, preferably in amount of 100% to about 250% by weight of the binder.

  • Patent number: 6052421
Abstract: A method for separating a desired signal from an interfering signal, which is particularly useful when the desired signal is substantially weaker than the interfering signal, includes the steps of providing a combined signal which contains both a desired signal and an interfering signal; performing a Fourier transform upon the combined signal; providing a reference function which is a function of the amplitude, frequency and phase of the interfering signal; performing a Fourier transform upon the referenced function; multiplying the real components of the Fourier transform of the combined signal by the real components of the Fourier transform of the reference signal to form a product; and subtracting the product from the Fourier transform of the combined signal to form transformed data less interference, i.e., the desired signal.

  • Patent number: 5738182
Abstract: A motor vehicle power steering gear has a proportional control valve with a cylindrical valve member riding rotatably on a spool shaft and connected thereto through a torsion rod. Electromagnetic apparatus for varying the magnitude of the effective restoring torque of the torsion rod comprises a stationary exciting coil, an extension of the cylindrical valve member having a plurality of outwardly facing teeth and an outer pole member fixed on the spool shaft for rotation therewith and having an equal plurality of opposing inwardly facing teeth, the teeth defining an air gap axially beside the coil. The cylindrical valve member is formed with a pair of sleeve surfaces for riding on the spool shaft surface with a small controlled clearance providing a hydraulic seal; and faces of the teeth of the cylindrical valve member and outer pole member are both machined after formation of the members for accurate control of the radial distance thereof from the spool shaft surface and thus of the air gap.

  • Patent number: 4516633
Abstract: In the mining of various minerals from the earth, large mining shafts extending from the surface down to the deposited mineral layers or seams in the earth can be provided through the use of large diameter bore hole drilling equipment. With the drilling equipment stationed on the surface of the earth, a drilling member is drilled down into the earth for forming a shaft in excess of 10 feet to a depth of at least 2000 feet. As the earth is broken up during the drilling operation, the broken fragments are removed from the drilled hole by a reverse circulation drilling operation. During the drilling operation, the drilling bit is maintained in proper alignment with the shaft being drilled by the use of non-rotating stabilizers having an outer diameter substantially equal to the diameter of the hole being drilled.
