Patent number: 10457488Abstract: The present application discloses vertical spiral conveyors for transporting loose material without the use of vibration or oscillation and methods of transporting materials without the use of vibration or oscillation. In certain embodiments, the vertical spiral conveyor comprises a vertical spiral fabrication having a spiral conveyor tray connected to a vertical member that is configured to rotate about an axis of rotation, a drive arm extending from the vertical spiral fabrication, and a drive system for rotating the vertical spiral fabrication about the axis of rotation. The drive system comprises a power source and a transmission coupled to the drive arm. The drive system generates alternating forward and backward strokes on the drive arm that rotate the vertical spiral fabrication clockwise and counterclockwise about the axis of rotation to cause loose material to be conveyed around the spiral conveyor tray.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2018Date of Patent: October 29, 2019Assignee: Mayfran International, Inc.Inventor: Paul Robert Tamlin

Patent number: 10406531Abstract: An exemplary crushing machine has a crusher for crushing media into crushed media, a reciprocating conveyor having a tray for receiving crushed media from the crusher, and a belt conveyor for receiving crushed media from the reciprocating conveyor and conveying the crushed media to a desired location. The reciprocating conveyor optionally includes a conveyor scraper that has a blade having a plurality of teeth extending to the tray, a blade support disposed proximate and transverse the tray of the conveyor, a hingeable connection attaching the blade to the blade support, at least one guide slideably supporting the blade support, and at least one actuator for actuating the scraper. Movement of the conveyor scraper across the tray prevents crushed media from sticking to the tray of the conveyor.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2016Date of Patent: September 10, 2019Assignee: Mayfran International, Inc.Inventor: Paul Robert Tamlin

Publication number: 20040251113Abstract: A driving mechanism causes particulate material to advance on a reciprocating tray. The driving mechanism is connected to a first bar and causes it to reciprocate. The tray rests on the first bar and it too reciprocates. The first bar is spaced apart from a second bar but is attached to it by a spacer. The second bar is mounted in bearings for rotation. The tray may be mounted on oscillating supports attached to a base which underlies the tray. Each of the supports have joints which interconnect the supports with the tray and the base. A resilient insert is mounted within each joint and opposes the forward movement of the tray and assists the tray to return to its starting position.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 3, 2003Publication date: December 16, 2004Inventor: Paul Robert Tamlin

Patent number: 6634488Abstract: The driving mechanism has a drive shaft which rotates a driving block. A cam is mounted for rotation to the driving block and is received in a slot of a follower. As the cam rotates, it rolls backwards and forwards in the slot and causes the follower to rotate. A connecting rod is affixed to the follower and is rotated by it. The connecting rod rotates about an axis parallel to, but offset from, the axis about which the drive shaft rotates. The rate of rotation of the drive shaft is unvarying whereas the connecting rod rotates at a varying rate. A crank is affixed to the connecting rod and imparts reciprocating motion to the tray. A link can be substituted for the cam.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 2002Date of Patent: October 21, 2003Inventor: Paul Robert Tamlin
