  • Patent number: 12366215
Abstract: A method is disclosed to improve fuel efficiency in which detonations within an internal combustion engine are controlled to reduce fuel consumption. Nominal detonations occur when the engine main bearing shaft rotates and initiates combustion within cylinder surrounding the main bearing shaft at various predetermined angles. The current invention utilizes a starter motor to maintain a minimal rotation speed of the main engine flywheel and deactivates all cylinder detonations except occasionally a single or paired set of cylinders to provide intermittent supplemental maintenance power. Further, fuel injectors are deactivated to non-firing cylinders so that when intake valves are opened no fuel enters the cylinders. Exhaust valves are also kept open to further reduce cylinder resistance pressure, thereby creating a “free-wheeling” state of the engine pending renewed acceleration. Intermittently, a single cylinder may be activated to assist in maintaining a minimum flywheel RPM value.

  • Patent number: 12346837
Abstract: Disclosed is a system which assists rescuers in efforts to locate persons in the event of potentially harmful condition in a structure. An example system includes a sensory node which gathers sensor data including occupancy data. The system uses the sensory node to gather and process condition data to establish normal behavioral characteristics of the data. Threshold levels are determined from this processing. An alert is transmitted when conditions are detected that fall outside those threshold levels. The alert includes information regarding the detected conditions, occupancy information, and structure data. An example system includes a portable device that receives the alert along with the information provided with the alert and uses that information to alert a user and provide a display that provides alert and occupancy data such that occupants of the structure can be located and provided with assistance if required.

  • Patent number: 12337470
Abstract: A robot arm comprising: a first link connected to a second link by a joint, the joint permitting the second link to move relative to the first link; a motor for driving the joint; and a controller for controlling the motor. The controller is configured to electrically brake the motor in response to detection of a fault in the robot arm by applying a braking current to the motor so as to maintain the position of the joint against gravity. The controller only performs this electrical braking if the joint is in a configuration in which the robot arm will droop under gravity if the joint is not actively driven.

  • Patent number: 12319422
Abstract: Hybrid electric propulsion systems includes a combustion engine and an electric motor. The hybrid electric propulsion systems may include or utilize a non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising computer-executable instructions, which when executed by a processor associated with the hybrid electric propulsion system, cause the processor to perform a method that includes determining an occurrence of a thrust asymmetry in the hybrid electric propulsion system, and controlling the electric motor to decrease an efficiency of the electric motor for a transient time period sufficient to reduce a torque output of the combustion engine to match an electrical load on the combustion engine.

  • Patent number: 12314735
Abstract: Within an integrated circuit including a processor system and a data processing array, one or more kernels in the processor system are executed in response to a scheduling request from a host data processing system. The one or more kernels receive configuration data for implementing trace or profiling of a user design executable by a plurality of active tiles of the data processing array. Using the one or more kernels, selected tiles of the plurality of active tiles of the data processing array are configured with the configuration data to perform the trace or the profiling. Trace data or profiling data is generated through execution of the user design by the data processing array. The one or more kernels provide the trace data or the profiling data to the host data processing system.

  • Publication number: 20250145301
Abstract: A propulsion assembly includes a first torque source coupled with a first shaft and a second torque source coupled with a second shaft. A coupler selectively couples the first and second torque sources. When the first and second torque sources are coupled via the coupler, in response to a command to decouple the first torque source, an unloading operation is performed to decrease the torque output provided by the first torque source to a threshold, and when reached, the first shaft is decoupled from the coupler. When the first torque source is coupled with the coupler but the second torque source is not, in response to a command to couple the second torque source, a speed matching operation is performed to increase the speed of the second shaft to match a speed of the first shaft, and when the speeds are matched, the second shaft is coupled to the coupler.
