  • Publication number: 20240092377
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods are provided for package delivery guidance and assistance. A vehicle may comprise one or more sensors. A processing unit of the vehicle may determine, based on vehicle data obtained from the one or more sensors, that the vehicle is in a first state, determine that the first state corresponds to a first sub-task of the plurality of sub-tasks, determine a first graphical interface for performance of the first sub-task, present the first graphical interface on a first display screen of the at vehicle, responsive to additional vehicle data obtained from the one or more sensors indicating that the vehicle is in a second state: determine that the second state corresponds to a second sub-task of the plurality of sub-tasks, and update the first display screen with a second graphical interface that is for performance of the second sub-task.

  • Patent number: 11926877
Abstract: A saliva-based testing method that bypasses the need for RNA isolation/purification is described herein. In experiments with inactivated SARS-CoV-2 virus spiked into saliva, this method has a limit of detection of 500-1000 viral particles per mL, rivalling the standard NP swab method. Initial studies showed excellent performance with 100 clinical samples. This saliva-based process is operationally simple, utilizes readily available materials, and can be easily implemented by existing testing sites thus allowing for high-throughput, rapid, and repeat testing of large populations.

  • Publication number: 20240023244
Abstract: A molded housing of a conformal wearable battery (CWB) encloses an electronic component and include an electrically conductive contact component embedded within an exterior wall to conduct electricity between an interior and an exterior of the casing. A flexible printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) for a conformal wearable battery (CWB) is enclosed in a cavity within the molded housing and includes attachment sections for a plurality of battery cells that are arranged in a grid-like pattern on a same side of the flexible PCBA. A visco-elastic shock-absorbing member installed between the upper and lower portion of the flexible PCBA when configured in a folded configuration. Each battery cell is joined to the flexible PCBA via a welding process. Each battery cell has a visco-elastic shock-absorbing member attached individually to each battery cell of the plurality of battery cells.

  • Publication number: 20230139302
Abstract: A battery system with a passive thermal management system is formed from a plurality of battery cells arranged on a printed circuit board assembly. The printed circuit board assembly may include a flexible printed circuit board that is folded along an axis forming an upper and lower portion of the printed circuit board assembly. The thermal management system may include fire-blocking foam members individually attached to each battery cell along with flame-suppressant grease arranged between the battery cells. The battery cells may be arranged in a grid-like pattern to allow for a spacing arrangement between the battery cells to keep a failing battery cell from negatively affecting an adjacent battery cell. The flexible printed circuit card may include a fuse for each battery cell to shut off any current flow to a faulty battery cell if it begins to fail. The battery system may be a conformal wearable battery.

  • Patent number: 11581607
Abstract: A battery system with a passive thermal management system is formed from a plurality of battery cells arranged on a printed circuit board assembly. In some cases, the printed circuit board assembly may include a flexible printed circuit board that is folded along an axis forming an upper and lower portion of the printed circuit board assembly. The thermal management system may include fire-blocking foam members individually attached to each battery cell. The battery cells may be arranged in a grid-like pattern to allow for a spacing arrangement between the battery cells to keep a failing battery cell from negatively affecting an adjacent battery cell. In addition, the flexible printed circuit card may include a fuse for each battery cell to shut off any current flow to a faulty battery cell if it begins to fail causing current flow to exceed beyond a predetermined current limit. The battery system may be a conformal wearable battery.

  • Patent number: 11394077
Abstract: A battery system includes a plurality of non-cylindrical shaped battery cells arranged on, and physically affixed to, a flexible printed circuit board (PCB). The PCB may include a bend axis that facilitates folding of the flexible PCB to form an upper portion of the flexible PCB and a lower portion of the flexible PCB. A central stiffener may be positioned between the upper portion and the lower portion of the flexible PCB using an adhesive foam tape to form a battery assembly. The battery system may include a flexible housing with an internal cavity that receives the battery assembly. The central stiffener, and the adhesive foam tape, may provide a degree of rigidity and/or absorption to the PCB to reduce localized deformation of the PCB when the battery system experiences shock forces and to prevent damage to components of the battery assembly. The stiffener may be formed from non-metallic material.

  • Patent number: 11142409
Abstract: A vibratory conveyor system includes two or more product transfer pans bearing lengthwise channels along which products travel, each pan being linked to a respective shaker base via respective spring arms. Successive product transfer pans each have one or more of (1) greater vibration distance oriented along the direction of product travel, (2) greater vibrational frequency/speed, and/or (2) lesser spring arm angle with respect to vertical, than the prior product transfer pan(s). These features assist with obtaining a high degree of uniform product alignment, with products being aligned lengthwise within the channels of the pans, even where products are non-rigid and malleable/reshapeable (for example, for meat cutlets and fish fillets).

  • Patent number: 11081755
Abstract: A molded housing may enclose an electronic component and include an electrically conductive contact component embedded within an exterior wall to conduct electricity between an interior and an exterior of the casing. The contact component may include two knurled areas separated by a recessed groove. The knurled areas and recessed groove may be coplanar with the exterior wall. The knurled areas and recessed groove may form an interface with the molded casing to seal the casing against ingress of liquid into the interior. The molded casing may include an upper housing and a lower housing formed from a combination of a rigid member and a flexible member. The rigid member may have a plurality of rigid regions, and the flexible member may have a plurality of flexible regions formed between neighboring rigid regions. The flexible member may be molded onto the rigid member using a two-shot injection molding process.

  • Patent number: 10368625
Abstract: An applicator for applying creams, lotions, medicine, etc. to the body of a user. There is a sleeve coupled to a textured platform and/or reservoir. The sleeve is shaped and sized to friction fit to a pair of adjacent fingertips of a user and thereby to allow the user to beneficially apply, by fingertip control, fluid/cream/powder/etc. products. The textured platform includes an indented front portion, a reservoir, that is coupled to and/or integral to the sleeve such that when the sleeve is disposed over a pair of fingers, the indented front portion extends forward from the pads of the fingertips. There is also a tab.

  • Patent number: 9576359
Abstract: The subject invention provides a method for detecting and analyzing the hair follicles on a scalp to assist with hair follicle transplantation. The methods of the subject invention are able to count the number of hair follicle groups and the number of follicles within each group based upon a microscopic image of a sample from a human scalp. An algorithm is then used to cluster the follicles and generate a neighboring connected graph to calculate the inter object distances. A report can then be generated that provides information regarding the density, placement, and percentage of hair follicle type in different areas of the scalp. This report can be used to generate a hair follicle transplant strategy to assist a physician or robotic system.
