  • Patent number: 4873001
Abstract: A fabric softening and antistatic liquid laundry detergent composition includes synthetic anionic organic detergent, bentonite and higher aliphatic isostearamide antistat in an aqueous medium. The liquid detergent composition preferably contains a builder for the detergent component, such as polyphosphate and/or carbonate. Also within the invention is a process for washing and drying laundry, utilizing the described liquid detergent in the washing operation, whcih produces laundry that is soft and static-free or of low electrostatic charge despite having been subjected to a tumble drying process or similar static charging drying process, which normally causes laundry of similar fabrics to become electrostatically charged, resulting in objectionable "static cling".

  • Patent number: 4619774
Abstract: A fabric softening heavy duty liquid detergent, useful for both cleaning and softening laundry, includes certain proportions of sodium linear higher alkylbenzene sulfonate, sodium alkyl polyethoxy sulfate, builder salt (highly preferably a mixture of sodium tripolyphosphate and sodium carbonate), finely divided swelling bentonite and water. Such product is a stable pourable liquid, convenient for use in washing machines, for hand washing of laundry and for pre-treatment of badly soiled portions of items to be laundered. Preferably, the liquid detergent comprises about 9% of sodium linear tridecylbenzene sulfonate, about 2% of sodium alkyl polyethoxy sulfate wherein the alkyl is of 12 to 15 carbon atoms and the polyethoxy is of 3 ethylene oxide groups, 10 to 17% of sodium tripolyphosphate, e.g., 12% and 15%, 2 to 6% of sodium carbonate, e.g., 2% and 6%, about 12% of Wyoming bentonite, and 55 to 65% of water.

  • Patent number: 4539135
Abstract: A particulate laundry detergent composition is provided comprising:(a) from about 0.1 to about 50%, by weight, of a perfume-containing carrier comprising (i) discrete particles containing at least 75%, by weight, of a clay mineral other than talc and/or a zeolite, and less than about 5%, by weight, of surface active detergent compounds; and (ii) a perfume, said perfume being adsorbed and/or absorbed on said particles; and(b) from about 2 to about 50%, by weight, additional to any detergent compound in said particles, of one or more surface active detergent compounds selected from the group consisting of anionic, nonionic, cationic, ampholytic and zwitterionic detergent compounds. The balance of the composition is comprised of water and optionally builder and filler salts.

  • Patent number: 4536315
Abstract: A perfume-containing carrier is provided for use in admixture with a particulate laundry detergent composition or as an additive to the wash solution separate from the detergent composition to impart a pleasing fragrance to laundered fabrics.

  • Patent number: 4312855
Abstract: Compositions comprising a mixture of an aminopolyureylene resin having a molecular weight in the range of about 300 to 100,000 and an active material selected from the group of antibacterial materials, tarnish inhibitors, ultra violet absorbers, fluorescent brighteners, bluing agents and skin treating materials, the weight ratio of resin to active material being effective to improve the properties of the active material and being selected from the range of 1:1 to 20:1. Preferred compositions comprise 2% to 99% by weight of a water-soluble organic detergent, 0.05% to 5% by weight of aminopolyureylene resin and 0.05 to 5% by weight of active material.
