  • Publication number: 20220331631
Abstract: A fire protection sprinkler with a push-in connection includes a sprinkler body having an input orifice for receiving fluid and an output orifice for outputting the fluid, the body having a push-in connection at the input end and a base portion. The push-in connection is adapted to be connected to a pipe fitting by insertion and has a plurality of recesses, a first recess having a first gasket, a second recess having a second gasket, and a third recess having a retaining clip. A frangible element is held in place by a set screw and a stopper. The frangible element is designed to fail at a predetermined temperature to release the stopper. A deflector is positioned on the base portion and configured to direct the output fluid toward the output end, upon activation of the sprinkler by failure of the frangible element at the predetermined temperature.

  • Patent number: 6889774
Abstract: A fire protection sprinkler system for metal buildings has horizontally oriented sprinkler heads mounted on water supply lines extending along each side of rafters supporting the roof of a metal building so as to provide protection for bays between adjacent rafters having a width up to 25 feet or more. The sprinkler heads have a vertical part facing an outlet in a sprinkler body and a hood-shaped part supported from the vertical part and having downwardly inclined side walls and a downwardly inclined front wall. The deflector arrangement is supported from the sprinkler body by a pair of frame arms which converge at a boss on which the vertical part is mounted and another deflector part having rearwardly inclined arms extending horizontally, downwardly at an angle and substantially vertically, is supported between the boss and the vertical part of the deflector.

  • Patent number: 6668435
Abstract: A lightweight loop pile fabric having improved particle pick-up is described. In addition, a patterned loop pile fabric is described. The fabric has a plurality of multifilament loops extending from at least one of its surfaces, with at least some of the loops being teased. In one embodiment, the loops are formed from splittable multifilament yarns which are hypersplit during the manufacturing process to form teased loops. The fabrics perform particularly well in the manufacture of wiping cloths with enhanced performance characteristics. In addition, the fabrics enable the production of patterned articles having performance characteristics similar to or exceeding those of unpatterned goods. A process for making the fabrics is also described.
