  • Publication number: 20200405674
Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of serine or threonine together with at least one further amino acid or amino acid derivative and with at least one calcium salt or its hydrate to increase cellular availability of calcium in living cells of the epidermis and to a specific mixture of such components and a formulation consisting of said mixture and a solvent.

  • Publication number: 20060147426
Abstract: Described herein are post natal, multilineage inducible cells (MIAMI cells). In some examples, the cells are isolated from non fractionated, adult (males and females 3 to 72 years old) human bone marrow under cell culture conditions, which are believed to resemble an in vivo niche microenvironment in which primitive multipotent cells exist. MIAMI cells have a unique profile of molecular markers, and can be maintained in vitro (for more than 50 population doublings) without detectable changes in their characteristic molecular profile. MIAMI cells can be differentiated into mesodermal, neuroectodermal, and endodermal cell lineages. Methods of isolating, differentiating and using MIAMI cells are also described.

  • Patent number: 4228065
Abstract: An organopolysiloxane composition having a microbiocidal action comprising an .alpha.,.omega.-dihydroxypolydiorganosiloxane and a benzimidazolyl-alkyl-carbamate of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is an alkyl radical with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, optionally substituted by the radical --OR.sup.3,R.sup.3 is an alkyl radical with 1 to 4 carbon atoms or the phenyl radical, andR.sup.2 is hydrogen, an alkyl radical with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, haolgen or nitro.Advantageously the carbamate is methylbenzimidazolylmethyl-carbamate, N-(fluorodichloromethylthio)-phthalimide, is present as a synergistic fungicide and the composition further comprises a silicon-containing crosslinking agent for the siloxane, a heavy metal salt or amino accellerant for crosslinking and an .alpha.,.omega.-bis-(trimethylsiloxy)-polydimethylsiloxane. Water per se or in atmospheric air cures the composition to a rubber elastic product resistant to microbes.

  • Patent number: 4043601
Abstract: A cutting device is disclosed having an angled lifter blade with flat co-planar keepers on each side which is adapted to pass through or under a layer of asphalt or soil cement and cut a narrow trench without disruption or upheaval of the side edges of the trench. The cutting device is carried by a prime mover and is capable of making a clean cut or trench through asphalt layers of various thicknesses along straight or curved paths of travel. The side keepers may be vertically adjustable along a supporting shank in relation to the lifter blade and the length of the blade may be varied to adjust to differing thicknesses of the layer to be cut. The side keepers are spaced from each other by the sides of the lifter blade to define therewith a pair of cutting edges, one of which is at an angle to the horizontal or grade of the asphalt layer and the other of which is substantially flush with the top surface of the asphalt.

  • Patent number: 3960815
Abstract: A branched, high molecular-weight polyaryl-ether sulphone which is the reaction product of approximately equimolar amounts of an aromatic dialkali metal bishydroxylate and a bis-(halogen-aryl) compound, whose aryl nuclei are linked by sulphonyl groups, and about 0.01 to about 2 mol %, based on the bishydroxylate or bis-(4-halogenaryl) compound, of an aromatic compound having at least three aromatically linked alkali metal hydroxylate substitutents and/or of a halogenaryl compound having at least three aryl-linked halogen substituents and which is capable of substitution under the reaction conditions of polyaryl-ether sulphone manufacture.
