  • Publication number: 20240082034
Abstract: Several gastrointestinal surgery procedures are effective as treatments for metabolic disorders such as obesity and diabetes. Minimally invasive procedures including intra-luminal gastrointestinal implants have been proposed to mimic the anatomical, physiological and metabolic changes achieved by these procedures. Many of these designs include long sleeve like elements that prevent contact of food with the walls of the small intestine. It is desirable to have simple delivery systems that can place these implants under endoscopic guidance. However, in order to anchor these sleeve elements safely and reliably, the inventors have previously disclosed anchoring means that anchor the sleeves at the junctions of the stomach and the intestine or the stomach and esophagus.

  • Publication number: 20050105299
Abstract: The present application includes a vehicle mirror which includes an approach light in the attachment assembly. The approach light is a single light source positionable in relation to predetermined inputs for directing light to various areas, depending on the inputs. Additionally, an intercom system is provided for communication between the interior of the vehicle and exterior of the vehicle, by way of the vehicle mirror. Also, a remote sensor is utilized to set predetermined memory positions of interior vehicle components such as seats, steering columns and brake pedals. This allows customization of the interior components upon an individual's approach to the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20020096210
Abstract: A manifold safety valve assembly is disclosed. The assembly includes a manifold having at least two outlets and a flow director valve disposed between the outlets to direct fluid pressure from an inlet to one or the other of the outlets. Safety valve mechanisms are mounted at each manifold outlet. Each safety valve comprises a body having a main valve fluid passage. A rupture disk normally blocks an upstream location of the valve fluid passage. A pressure relief mechanism normally blocks a relatively downstream portion of the main fluid passage. A secondary fluid passage leads from a main fluid passage at a point between the rupture disk and a pressure relief mechanism to a gauge port.

  • Patent number: 5682612
Abstract: A modified glove makes it possible to treat selected plants with liquid without contaminating adjacent plants such as in use of herbicides for weed control. Adjacent thumb and finger(s) are absorbent pads which hold the treating liquid. When the plant is grasped between thumb and finger, the liquid is dispensed and coats the plant where touched. A special cuff forms a trough to protectively catch any drips. An abrasive element may be attached to one or more of the fingers of the glove to scarify the plant while stroking with the liquid loaded absorbent pad to enhance absorbtion of the liquid in plants with a liquid resistant surface.
