  • Patent number: 6012783
Abstract: Process for temperature-dependent actuation of a supplemental pressure medium source in slippage-controlled motor vehicle braking systems. The invention pertains to a process for operating a slippage-controlled motor vehicle braking system with regulation of driving dynamics. In such systems it has thus far been proposed to turn on supplemental pressure medium sources to support the supply pump when regulation starts, in order to shorten the regulation time. Practical studies have shown that such supplemental sources are, first of all, not needed for each regulation process and, second, cause disruptive noise. The invention thus proposes to turn on the supplemental pressure medium source only in the presence of special situations, such as if the pressure medium is very viscous due to low temperatures. Advantageous refinements are concerned with determination of the temperature.

  • Patent number: 5029949
Abstract: A circuit configuration for a brake system including an anti-locking control system, wherein a balanced pressure course is attained in the rear wheel brakes through control according to the "select-low" principle. The circuit configuration is furnished with a supplemental circuit (8) comparing the rotating pattern of the rear wheels during the control and, upon detection of a brake moment difference (.DELTA.M) causes a brake moment correction. This correction can be achieved, for example, by prolongating (T.sub.p, T'.sub.p) of the pressure build-up pulses controlling the rise in pressure in the wheel exhibiting a lower brake moment.

  • Patent number: 5007687
Abstract: An anti-skid-controlled hydraulic brake system is described where the pressure medium, bled off from the wheel brakes for the purpose of pressure control, is replaced from a storage reservoir. The pressure medium will be delivered by a pump to the wheel brakes, and also into the master brake cylinder. As a result, during brake slip control, the volume requirements of the wheel brakes partially are met from the master brake cylinder. Directly involved is a pedal pulsation. So as to attenuate the pulsation, a throttling unit is inserted into the line between the pump and the master brake cylinder. A simple embodiment includes an orifice inserted between the pump and master brake cylinder.
