  • Patent number: 9528869
Abstract: A method for compensating for changes in a property of water in a multiphase fluid during analysis of the multiphase fluid is provided. In one embodiment, the method includes providing a multiphase flow meter system configured to emit and detect nuclear radiation, to emit and detect microwave radiation, and to analyze a received multiphase fluid. The method can also include measuring a temperature and a microwave complex permittivity of the multiphase fluid. Further, the method includes compensating for changes in the property of water in the multiphase fluid during analysis of the multiphase fluid by using an empirical transformation between the fluid temperatures, microwave complex permittivities and nuclear mass attenuation coefficients for mixtures of different waters expected to be produced and received by the multiphase flow meter system. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20160258790
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed toward methods and systems including a flow meter. The flow meter can include one or more sensors and be capable of detecting parameters of the fluid flowing therethrough. One or more sensors can include capacitive sensors having a plurality of electrodes and configured to detect capacitive properties of a fluid flowing through the flow meter. • Patent number: 9418262
Abstract: Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags will be embedded into materials used to make various items (e.g., garments). Embedded RFID tags will be used to track the manufacturing process, inventory management and verify the authenticity of manufactured goods. RFID tags utilize a standard language (e.g., EPC Gen2 v2, etc.) that distinctly identifies the objects and manufacturers of the items the tags are embedded in. RFID tags also contain memory fields that can be written to from an RFID Interrogator. Containing electronic circuitry and an antenna, RFID tags will activate metal detectors, creating false alarms and neutralizing their usefulness. Techniques are provided for combining a metal detector and a RFID Reader in a single device to enable a security function for differentiating garments and/or accessories with an embedded RFID tag or standalone metal object. This invention applies to all metal detectors, x-ray, and millimeter scanners to include handheld, portable and standalone systems.

  • Publication number: 20160197741
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing redundancy in a network node implementing a ring protection protocol. Each of the two ring ports connecting the node to other nodes in a ring supporting the protocol may be maintained by a separate line card. Should one line card fail, traffic passing through the node may be redirected through the remaining ring port under the control of the surviving state machine. The two state machines may be coordinated over the backplane of the node to maintain a common state, making them transparent to other nodes. Additionally, the backplane link between the state machines may be monitored for failures that may be addressed with messages used to respond to general ring failures and by assigning one state machine to block a ring port upon recovery to prevent a loop within the ring until the ring protection link can be blocked.

  • Patent number: 9317403
Abstract: A method for creating a text label for a first digital image includes a portion of a second digital image. The first digital image includes a plurality of pixels selected from the second digital image. The first digital image also includes at least one non-text string element. A computer processor is configured to search the first or second digital images for a text string and identify whether the text string is a candidate text string based on at least one first criteria associated with the said text string. Upon determining the text string is a candidate text string, the method creates a text label for the first digital image based upon the candidate text string.

  • Patent number: 9311007
Abstract: An integrated circuit has registers which it can place in a low power condition in which their state is lost; a power domain capable of reading the registers, the current operating mode of the domain being dependent on the state of the registers; a memory; and a configuration controller for configuring the registers. The configuration controller has access to a set of mappings. Each mapping indicates for bits represented in the memory the state of other bits storable in the registers. The configuration controller is configured to perform a register configuration operation by reading bits from the memory and populating the registers with a corresponding bit state.

  • Publication number: 20160033407
Abstract: An optical sensor may have multiple detection channels to detect different characteristics of a fluid. For example, an optical sensor used in industrial cleaning and sanitizing applications may have multiple detection channels to detect when a system is both clean and properly sanitized. In one example, an optical sensor includes an optical emitter that directs light into a fluid, a first optical detector that detects light transmitted through the fluid, a second optical detector that detects light scattered by the fluid, and a third optical detector that detects fluorescent emissions emitted by the fluid. The optical emitter and optical detectors can be positioned around an optical analysis area. The optical sensor may include filters that control the characteristics of light detected by each of the optical detectors.
