  • Publication number: 20050211305
Abstract: In one embodiment, a flow control valve includes a valve body having an inlet, an outlet, a flow passageway coupling the inlet to the outlet, and a cavity with first and second chambers. The valve further includes a hollow piston disposed in the first chamber and a seal separating the first and second chambers. The seal has a section within the piston that is exposed to the fluid in the first chamber. The section of the seal defines a first effective area. The valve also includes a biasing member configured to urge the piston, and a reference pressure passageway in fluid communication with the inlet and the second chamber. The valve can further include a piston seat that has a second inner effective area at least approximately equal to the first inner effective area.

  • Publication number: 20040191519
Abstract: The present invention concerns a new ferromagnetic powder composition comprising soft magnetic iron-based core particles wherein the surface of the core particles are surrounded by an insulating inorganic coating, and a lubricating amount of a compound selected from the group consisting of silanes, titanates, aluminates, zirconates, or mixtures thereof. The invention also concerns a process for the preparation of soft magnetic composite materials using the new powder composition.

  • Publication number: 20040123697
Abstract: The present invention concerns a process for the preparation of high density green compacts comprising the steps of providing an iron-based powder essentially free from fine particles; optionally mixing said powder with graphite and other additives; uniaxially compacting the powder in a die at a compaction pressure of at least about 800 MPa and ejecting the green body. The invention also concerns the powder used in the method.

  • Publication number: 20040123696
Abstract: The invention concerns a powder composition including an iron or iron based powder and a lubricating amount of an alkylalkoxy or polyetheralkoxy silane, wherein the alkyl or polyether group has between 8 and 30 carbon atoms and the alkoxi group includes 1-3 carbon atoms.

  • Patent number: 6733260
Abstract: A powder box, an arrangement for a powder box comprising an insert and a method for filling powder into a cavity formed in a die. Gas is supplied to a powder box, which is movable toward and away from a position just above the cavity. The gas is supplied through a permeable plate, which is arranged on at least one insert and which faces the interior of the powder box, so that particles of the powder in the powder box are movable relative to each other. The fluidisation of the powder shortens the filling time and results in an even particle size distribution in the cavity.

  • Publication number: 20040062674
Abstract: The invention concerns a method of preparing products having a sintered density of above 7.3 g/cm3. This method comprises the steps of subjecting a water-atomised, stainless steel powder to HVC compaction with an uniaxial pressure movement with a ram speed of at least 2 m/s, and sintering the green body.

  • Publication number: 20030033903
Abstract: The invention concerns a method of preparing compacts having a sintered density of above 7.3 g/cm3. This method comprises the steps of subjecting an annealed, water-atomised, essentially carbon free stainless steel powder, which in addition to iron, comprises at least 10% by weight of chromium, not more than 0.4%, preferably not more than 0.3% by weight of oxygen, not more than 0.05%, preferably not more than 0.02% and most preferably not more than 0.015% of carbon, not more than 0.5% by weight of Si and not more than 0.5% of impurities, to HVC compaction with an uniaxial pressure movement with a ram speed of at least 2 m/s, and sintering the green body.
