    Abstract: Methods and systems for controlling a computer using a video image of a computer user and for combining the video image with a computer desktop are disclosed. In one method, an image of a user is combined and transparently displayed with a computer desktop. The user may point to or manipulate desktop images by making predetermined movements. Images of multiple users in different locations may be combined and displayed on the desktop to facilitate collaboration among users, such as collaborative programming.
