  • Patent number: 4220157
Abstract: A brassiere is provided in which weights which approximate the weight of the breasts are suspended from non-stretchable straps passing from the cup over the shoulders and down the back. The mass of each breast and its counterweight remain in dynamic equilibrium throughout athletic activity so that stress on breast tissue caused by activity-induced bouncing does not occur. The counterweight system also frees the brassiere design from the necessity of conventional chest-binding circumferential straps, making possible a looser and more comfortable design.
