  • Patent number: 4966499
Abstract: A vibratory compactor is connected to a loading boom for exerting compaction forces upon trash and the like. The vibratory compactor includes a generally circular base plate having outboard bearing members located near the periphery thereof, inboard bearing members extending across the central portion thereof stiffening the base plate, gussets connected thereto and extending toward the periphery of the base plate for stiffening the base and supporting inboard bearing members, and vibration isolating means located between the connectors used for connecting the compactor to the loading boom and the inboard and outboard bearing members.

  • Patent number: 4844513
Abstract: This invention relates to a peripheral connector for a standard coupler, which permits the coupler to be remotely connectable and disconnectable. A male unit and a female unit of the invention enclose a male half and a female half of the coupler, respectively, and cover them with protective boots. A female unit projects an assembly, thereby opening the boot covering the female coupler half. The projected assembly pushes against portions of the male unit, opening the boot covering the male unit, and connecting the coupler. Disconnection is accomplished by moving the projected assembly in the opposite direction.

  • Patent number: 4836741
Abstract: A hitch apparatus for detachably connecting a bucket to a power operated boom of a self propelled backhoe or excavator vehicle in which the hitch includes a body having a pair of upstanding side walls for hinge mounting onto the manipulative end of the boom. At the underside of the body secured in a relatively forward location of a bottom wall connecting the sidewalls is a hook member defining a transverse jaw channel in which to receive a transverse hingepin extending between spaced apart support lugs secured to the backside of the bucket. Rearwardly extending downward from the backside of the bottom wall is an elongated transverse sleeve adapted to be received intervening between the lugs of the bucket and containing a cyindrical rotatably displaceable bushing within the bore of the sleeve. The bushing is formed having an eccentric internal bore that by arcuate displacement of the bushing can be axially aligned with opposite apertures in the lugs.

  • Patent number: 4813163
Abstract: An alignment fitting for implements such as buckets and hammers, which are to be removably attached to a bachhoe. The invention includes a pair of cylindrical bosses, which are affixed to opposing apertures in mounting flanges on the implement. A cylindrical bushing is rotatable inside each boss. A pin is placed through an eccentric bore in each bushing, and through the backhoe dipperstick. The eccentricity of the bushings allows the bushings to compensate for misalignment that may occur in the implement or the backhoe dipperstick. The invention may also be used with a hitch to provide greater tolerances when nonstandard size implements are attached.

  • Patent number: 4224003
Abstract: A hydraulically operated vibratory soil compactor adapted for use with a loading boom such as a backhoe. Improved construction includes a rectangular structural steel tube welded to a vibrating base plate for providing: structural reinforcement; a sealed housing for an eccentric weight vibrator; and, a supporting surface for shear type springs or shock mounts. A hydraulic drive motor is also mounted on the outside of the central tube member. Improved construction further includes an I-beam section welded between a pair of inverted U-shaped plates to form a tunnel type mounting frame having four arms for connection to the shock mounts supported on the tube member.
