Abstract: Computer-generated feedback directed to whether user speech input meets subjective criteria is provided through the evaluation of multiple speaking traits. Initially, discrete instances of various multiple speaking traits are detected within the user speech input provided. Such multiple speaking traits include vocal fry, tag questions, uptalk, filler sounds and hedge words. Audio constructs indicative of individual instances of speaking traits are isolated and identified from appropriate samples. Speaking trait detectors then utilize such audio constructs to identify individual instances of speaking traits within the spoken input. The resulting quantities are scored based on reference to predetermined threshold quantities. The individual speaking trait scores are then amalgamated utilizing a weighting that is derived based on empirical relationships between those speaking traits and the criteria for which the user's speech input is being evaluated.

Abstract: A user profile is constructed from implicit user signals, such as prior searches, as well as from explicit user signals. The user profile informs which types of information is proactively obtained for the user. The proactively obtained information is ranked so that only the highest ranked information is proactively presented to the user. The proactive presentation of information to the user can take the form of tiles, or other like graphical elements, that can comprise images with text indicative of information that is being proactively presented to the user. User action directed to a tile can result in the presentation of further information.

Abstract: A real-time event planning system and method provides an automated interface that enables an event planner to create and publish events for which participants can immediately register. The system is designed to allow the event planner to configure all the characteristics of the event in real-time without requiring outside intervention, such as external program downloads or live assistance. An event can be made immediately available for prospective event participants to register and pay for the event.
