  • Patent number: 8939989
Abstract: A pair of obstetric forceps is described. The forceps comprise a pair of blades for holding the head of a baby and a handle having at least one part by which a user can apply a pulling force on the head of the baby in use. A mechanically operated force indicator is connected to the at least one part of the handle and is operable to provide a visual indication of the amount of pulling force being applied to the head of the baby when a user applies a pulling force on the head of the baby in use. A mechanically operated disabling device is operable to at least partially disable the obstetric forceps when a maximum pulling force has been exceeded. The blades can each have a superior rim and inferior rim wherein the greatest separation between the superior rims is greater than the greatest separation between the inferior rims when the obstetric forceps are in a closed configuration so that the blades adopt the form of an at least partially bowl shape.

  • Publication number: 20090199329
Abstract: The present invention features a method for preventing post urination drip from a penis of a human male after he urinates into a urinal. In some embodiments, the method comprises providing a tissue dispenser next to the urinal, wherein the human male can extract a tissue from the dispenser to wipe his penis after urination.

  • Publication number: 20070057009
Abstract: An attachment for a palm nailer that allows the palm nailer to be used for planishing metal is disclosed. A cylindrical portion with a threaded end is attached to a palm nailer through a receiving end, and a head piece suitable for planishing metal is secured to the threaded end. In operation, the palm nailer pneumatically engages the attachment, which causes the attachment to vibrate at a high rate of speed. This in turn allows the palm nailer to be used to planish metal.

  • Publication number: 20050205132
Abstract: The present subject matter relates to controlling water sources external to a structure and more particularly to an external water shutoff. One embodiment of the present subject matter includes an apparatus having an electrically operable valve placed on a water supply line internal to a structure between a location where the water supply line enters the structure and a location where the water supply line exits the structure, an auto-drain valve, and means for controlling the electrically operable valve, wherein the means for controlling is external to the structure, further wherein the means for controlling the electrically operable valve is communicatively connected to the electrically operable valve external to the structure.

  • Patent number: 4417122
Abstract: A resistance welding system having a low-inertia movable welding head coupled to a stationary welding transformer which is of low mutual reactance. Through an appropriate timing circuit and control, a high-energy pulse of current, of very short time duration, is transmitted through the welding transformer to the movable welding head. The welding head, which contacts a projection on overlapping components, effects a rapid welding of the components, and the welding head rapidly follows up the melting of the projection due to its low inertia.
