Abstract: A connector assembly includes an adapter, a housing device, a ferrule assembly, and a sensor. The housing device is received by the adapter and has a bore, a front end, and a rear end opposite the front end. A ferrule of the ferrule assembly is within the bore of the housing device and has a mating end extending beyond the front end of the housing device. The sensor is mounted on the rear end of the housing, the rear end of the ferrule assembly, or on the adapter confronting and spaced apart from the housing device or the ferrule assembly. The sensor is configured for detecting a force applied by the housing device or the ferrule assembly, respectively. An electrical characteristic of the sensor changes to indicate a predetermined force has been applied by the housing device or the ferrule assembly, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20190310605
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed toward a diagnostic method for a spindle arm of a machine. The method includes rotating the spindle arm of the machine at a first rotational speed, and acquiring, from an accelerometer, data indicative of a vibrational response of the spindle arm operating at the first rotational speed. The accelerometer is disposed along the spindle arm. The method further includes converting the vibrational response to a frequency based response to obtain a first frequency response, determining whether an amplitude of the first frequency response exceeds a diagnostic threshold, and performing a designated correction on the machine in response to the frequency response exceeding the diagnostic threshold.

  • Publication number: 20190310311
Abstract: A flexible monitoring system and corresponding methods of use are provided. The system can include a base containing backplane, and one or more circuits communicatively coupled to the backplane. The circuits can be designed with a common architecture that is programmable to perform different predetermined functions, such as input, output, and processing. By separating functions of the flexible monitoring system into different circuits, new implementations of the flexible monitoring system can be rapidly developed by arranging already created components in different combinations. Multiple bases can also be communicatively coupled in a manner that establishes a common backplane between respective bases. Accordingly, implementations of the flexible monitoring system distribute combinations of circuits across different bases, providing flexible deployment options.

  • Publication number: 20190308626
Abstract: A propulsion system, control system, and method use model predictive control systems to generate a plurality of sets of possible command values and determine a cost for each set of possible command values. The set of possible command values that has the lowest cost is determined and defined as a selected set of command values. In some circumstances, the MPC-determined command value may be replaced by another transmission ratio command based on override inputs. Minimum and maximum transmission ratios are determined based on the override inputs, and a constrained (or arbitrated) transmission ratio is determined therefrom. The constrained or arbitrated transmission ratio is used to determine whether to apply an MPC-determined transmission ratio or a transmission ratio based on the arbitrated transmission ratio to determine an ultimate commanded transmission ratio. Pressure(s) are commanded to a transmission pulley assembly, which is configured to implement the ultimate commanded transmission ratio.

  • Publication number: 20190311146
Abstract: In a system for providing access control management to electronic data, techniques to secure the electronic data and keep the electronic data secured at all times are disclosed. According to one embodiment, a secured file or secured document includes two parts: an attachment, referred to as a header, and an encrypted document or data portion. The header includes security information that points to or includes the access rules and a file key. The access rules facilitate restrictive access to the secured document and essentially determine who/when/how/where the secured document can be accessed. The file key is used to encrypt/decrypt the encrypted data portion. Only those who have the proper access privileges are permitted to retrieve the file key to encrypt/decrypt the encrypted data portion.

  • Publication number: 20190307416
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are configured to assess the severity of a blockage in a vessel and, in particular, a stenosis in a blood vessel. In some particular embodiments, the devices, systems, and methods of the present disclosure are configured to assess the severity of a stenosis in the coronary arteries by monitoring fluid flow. In some embodiments, the devices, systems, and methods of the present disclosure receive analog sensor data that includes fluid flow data and digitizes the analog sensor data according to a quadrature sampling rate. A weighted accumulator performs a baseband conversion on the digitized sensor data and may perform other signal processing steps. The processed data is then provided for use in any one of a number of diagnostic assessments.

  • Publication number: 20190312108
Abstract: A method and resulting structures for a semiconductor device includes forming a source terminal of a semiconductor fin on a substrate. An energy barrier is formed on a surface of the source terminal. A channel is formed on a surface of the energy barrier, and a drain terminal is formed on a surface of the channel. The drain terminal and the channel are recessed on either sides of the channel, and the energy barrier is etched in recesses formed by the recessing. The source terminal is recessed using timed etching to remove a portion of the source terminal in the recesses formed by etching the energy barrier. A first bottom spacer is formed on a surface of the source terminal and a sidewall of the semiconductor fin, and a gate stack is formed on the surface of the first bottom spacer.

The rivet in an undeformed state, before the creation of the riveted joint, included: a head defining a head diameter (DH); a shank defining a shank diameter (DS); and a foot end opposite the head. Radially outward at the foot end is a flat surface facing away from the head; and an axial recess located radially inward of the flat surface, partly defined in the foot end, open axially away from the head, and frustoconical in longitudinal cross section. The axial recess defining an axial depth (LB). The ratio of recess axial depth (LB) to shank diameter (DS) is less than 0.3. And in a deformed state, after the creation of the riveted joint, the rivet extends through the first workpiece and penetrates the second workpiece; and the head bears against the upper surface.
