  • Patent number: 12084985
Abstract: A turning system for rotating equipment, comprises a motor configured for speed control; a gear connected to the motor, the gear is further connected to the rotating equipment, the motor and gear are configured for rotating the rotating equipment at speeds less than the normal operating speed of the rotating equipment; and a controller configured to perform a method, wherein the method comprises a sequence of steps including, rotating the rotating equipment from a standstill an angular amount of rotation, stopping rotation after moving the angular amount of rotation, and maintaining the rotating equipment at a standstill for a period of time; and repeating the sequence of steps. By performing the sequence of steps after the rotating equipment comes to a standstill, bowing or sagging of the rotating equipment can be prevented, and the rotating equipment is ready to startup at anytime.

  • Patent number: 11662649
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure include an apparatus with a camera. A shutter is positioned horizontally in front of the lens of the camera. The shutter is configured to move in front of a lens of the camera and is further configured to move orthogonally to the horizontal axis so as to at least partially obscure the lens of first camera in a closed shutter position. The apparatus further includes a motor positioned horizontally behind the front of the lens of the camera. The motor is configured to move the shutter orthogonally to the horizontal axis between the closed shutter position and an open shutter position.

  • Patent number: 10533459
Abstract: A turbine and the method of operating the turbine when taking the turbine off-line includes transmitting power to a No. 1 shaft via a main motor to turn the turbine at an original turning speed, wherein the No. 1 shaft drives a No. 2 shaft; reducing a speed of the turbine; and when the speed of the turbine is reduced to a predetermined RPM, switching power transmission to the turbine from the No. 1 shaft to a No. 2 shaft, wherein the No. 2 shaft is driven by an auxiliary motor, and the No. 2 shaft drives the No. 1 shaft to turn the turbine at a slow turning speed less than the original turning speed.

  • Patent number: 9965571
Abstract: A method of recambering an aerofoil section. A position on one of the surfaces that intersects with a passage shock between adjacent aerofoils is determined and then projected as a shock position onto the camber line. A shock region encompassing the shock position and extending in a chordal direction towards the leading and trailing edges is defined. The camber line is recalculated in an upstream region using semi-inverse design. The camber line is extrapolated across the shock region to match a geometric criterion. The camber line is recalculated in a downstream region using semi-inverse design.

  • Patent number: 8631026
Abstract: Methods and systems for efficient query rewriting and the like are described here. One such described method comprises: offline mapping frequently-seen search queries to rewritten queries that may be better for searching; offline caching the mapping in a cache memory; and upon receiving a search query from a user similar to one of the mapped search queries, obtaining a corresponding rewritten query from the mapping in the cache memory based on predetermined conditions, and issuing a search of the rewritten query to the backend data system in order to avoid having to issue a search query to the backend data system twice while the user is online.
