Publication number: 20220180720Abstract: Systems and methods for tracking the location of an asset may utilize wireless asset beacons broadcasting asset information/data and powered asset beacons secured relative to movable powered assets. The powered asset beacons may be configured to receive signals transmitted from the asset beacons and to ascertain a relative location between the asset beacon and the powered asset to determine an estimated location of the asset. Moreover, the asset beacons may be selectively activated based on the occurrence of a trigger event, such that the asset beacons do not wireless transmit information/data when it is desirable to limit wireless data transmissions.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 22, 2022Publication date: June 9, 2022Inventors: Daniel Paul Tyler, Balakrishna Subramaniam

Publication number: 20220124084Abstract: In various exemplary embodiments, a security continuity system allows users to continue accessing certain user accounts (e.g., email, calendar, contacts, documents, instant messaging, cloud storage, etc.) through alternate logon identity credentials that are automatically provisioned such as when a security event is detected or suspected. The alternate logon identity credentials may be temporary (e.g., just used during security continuity until the original user logon identity credentials can be secured such as by establishing a new password or by having the user select a new logon identity) or permanent (e.g., the alternate logon identity can become the user's new logon identity). Security continuity may be invoked manually (e.g., by the user or by an administrator) or automatically when certain conditions are detected (e.g., through detection of suspicious activities such as repeated user lockouts due to multiple failed logon attempts or upon detection of a successful breach by an attacker).Type: ApplicationFiled: October 21, 2020Publication date: April 21, 2022Inventors: Jackie Anne Maylor, Simon Paul Tyler, Mark O'Hare, Nathaniel S. Borenstein

Publication number: 20220103501Abstract: Among other things, we describe techniques for encoding data that is included in electronic communications. In one aspect, a first electronic communication system sends, to an entity, a first email message that includes a Message-ID field including data that identifies an action to be carried out by a second electronic communication system. The first electronic communication system receives, from the entity, a second email message that includes an In-Reply-To field containing the data that identifies the action to be carried out by the second electronic communication system. The first electronic communication extracts the data from the In-Reply-To field in a message header of the first electronic communication. The second electronic communication system may be the same as the first electronic communication system, or may be an electronic communication system other than the first electronic communication system.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 2, 2021Publication date: March 31, 2022Inventors: Simon Paul Tyler, Jackie Anne Maylor

Publication number: 20220100332Abstract: The invention is related to security systems and methods for proactively informing a user about an artifact associated with a clickable object on a user interface with which the user is interacting, where such information is provided to the user prior to selection of the clickable object. The information includes a safety assessment of the clickable object, details about the underlying artifact, such as the contents of an archive file, and general information helpful in assisting the user with making a decision as to whether to select the clickable object.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 2, 2021Publication date: March 31, 2022Inventors: Lee Haworth, Simon Paul Tyler, Jackie Anne Maylor, Nathaniel S. Patent number: 11258785Abstract: Virtually every online account requires login credentials like username and password for access. Using different credentials for each account can reduce the likelihood of unauthorized access to these accounts. Remembering all the different credentials, however, can be a challenge and it is not uncommon for a user to mistakenly provide credentials to a site that are for another, sensitive site. Accordingly, a system for warning a user of such an error is provided. The system includes a browser plugin that responds to a user entering their credentials at a requesting site by looking up an identifier of a trusted site associated with the user's credentials. The identifiers of the requesting and trusted sites are compared, and if they do not match, the browser plugin blocks the user from submitting their credentials to the requesting site. Advantageously, the system reduces the likelihood that credentials to sensitive accounts are provided by accident.Type: GrantFiled: January 2, 2020Date of Patent: February 22, 2022Assignee: Mimecast Services Ltd.Inventors: Jackie Anne Maylor, Simon Paul Tyler, Steven Malone, Wayne Van Ry, Francisco Ribeiro

Publication number: 20210383320Abstract: An asset identifier for an asset located within a physical environment is obtained based on received scanning information. The asset identifier is associated with a delivery destination defined for the asset. Asset location data that is associated with the obtained asset identifier and defines a position of the asset within the physical environment is generated based on the received scanning information. A current location of the physical environment is determined based on received asset location data. One or more lights of a plurality of lights are selectively activated to indicate the position of the asset within the physical environment based on the asset location data and a determination that the determined current location is within a threshold distance of the defined delivery destination.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 25, 2021Publication date: December 9, 2021Inventors: JULIO GIL, CARL M. SKONBERG, DANIEL PAUL TYLER

Publication number: 20210336969Abstract: A computerized system for complying with critical infrastructure protection (“CIP”) standards concerning system configuration changes. The system can be used to automatically identify and track changes to computers on the network, improving system security and CIP compliance reporting. In certain embodiments, the system collects system information on servers and workstations using built-in commands. The configuration profiles of these computers/devices can be archived for audit purposes.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 2, 2021Publication date: October 28, 2021Inventors: Paul Tyler Bonney, Richard Ray Field

Publication number: 20210042871Abstract: Embodiments herein provide a system and method for generating mobile mesh networks that monitor multi-package shipments. In embodiments, mobile mesh networks are created using a plurality of devices that are associated with and travel with packages in a multi-package shipment. The plurality of devices are configured to form a mesh network: some devices act as child nodes and at least one device acts as a parent node. In embodiments, the devices acting as child nodes provide information to the device acting as the parent node through the mesh network. Then, the device acting as the parent node provides information to an external device for monitoring purposes. As such, a portion or all of the packages in a multi-package shipment are monitored using the device acting as the parent node as a proxy for the packages in the multi-package shipment.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 4, 2020Publication date: February 11, 2021Inventors: Carl M. Patent number: 10728239Abstract: Today's user is facing an ever increasing number of cyber threats from infectious software to scam artist phishing for their passwords and other personal information. Accordingly, a technique is provided to mediate a user's access to electronic resources, which can include malware and sites that trick the user into giving their password. Based on information known about the resource at the time the user accesses it, the technique can warn the user that the resources is suspicious and it is not safe to provide their password. Even if the resource is safe, the technique can warn the user not reuse their password, thereby promoting good password hygiene.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 2017Date of Patent: July 28, 2020Assignee: Mimecast Services Ltd.Inventors: Jackie Anne Maylor, Simon Paul Tyler, Steven Malone, Wayne Van Ry, Francisco Ribeiro, Nathaniel S.
