  • Patent number: 5035645
Abstract: A new and improved bracket or cradle for use in conjunction with terminal blocks for effecting connections in the telephonic, data transmisison and related fields is presented. In accordance with the present invention, the cradle comprises a generally rectangular bracket having a rear face and two opposed side faces transverse to the rear face. Each of the three faces include openings therein for receiving conventional male or female connector elements. In accordance with an important feature of the present invention, the longitudinal upper surfaces of the opposed faces each include a plurality of wire guide openings for positioning and retaining wires; and providing improved wire management to the bracket. Each wire guide opening is defined by a pair of spaced, alternating substantially T-shaped and longitudinal extensions which are positioned along the longitudinal upper surfaces to define an array of teeth.

  • Patent number: 4813071
Abstract: An adjustably sized laminar type telephone connector block suitable for interconnecting telephone subscriber pairs to telephone office switching equipment. The block comprises a plurality of superposed contact holding elements positioned between a pair of support elements, the support elements in turn having means for attachment to a main frame. The capacity of an individual block is varied by adding or removing contact holding elements. Each contact holding element includes pairs of interconnected quick clip contact elements of generally planar configuration which are separated from corresponding quick clip elements of adjacent contact holding elements by laterallly directed insulative flanges which overlie the quick clip contact elements, and which form strain relief means for conductors engaged upon the contact elements.

  • Patent number: 4811169
Abstract: A single sided telephone frame particularly suited for DSX use utilizing a standard relay rack. In-plant equipment cables are interconnected to equipment blocks at an upper end of the frame. Below the equipment blocks are a group of jack panels located between groups of cross-connect block elements to maintain cable connections therebetween as short as possible. Connections between groups of cross-connect blocks to the jack panel elements, and from the jack panel elements to the equipment block elements are principally through a single vertical trough along one side of the frame, thereby permitting maximum space utilization. Each of the elements includes a metallic enclosure having members forming segments of the trough which are aligned to vertical congruency upon assembly upon the frame.

  • Patent number: 4752232
Abstract: A locking device for preventing unauthorized access to a telephone subscriber circuit jack located at a building entrance terminal structure or similar face is disclosed. The jack accommodates a plug having a manually engageable release member and defines a recess accommodating the jack. The locking device includes a housing element defining a generally rectangularly enclosed recess. Means within the recess locates the plug in predetermined position. A forward wall in the housing defines an opening opposite the plug which will provide access. A cover element is supported for selective movement relative to the housing element between first and second positions, the cover element being clear of the opening in the jack in a first position and at least partially overlying the opening in a second position. Latching means is provided on the cover element and locking means on the housing element engages the latching means for preventing movement of the cover from the first position to the second position.

  • Patent number: 4737985
Abstract: A modular, high density cross-connect frame specifically adapted for central office application and forming a centralized distributing frame intended for patch and cross-connect circuits for digital equipment. The frame is dual-sided, with the patching and testing administration entirely on one side confined to an area readily manually and visually accessible to service personnel, with cross-connect administration confined to the opposite side. Internal connections are made using a vertically oriented cabling plane disposed between the two sides of the frame using a relatively few number of cables each having a large number of individual connectors which interconnect a first set of connector blocks with corresponding jack frame elements. A second plurality of connector blocks is disposed immediately opposite the jack frame elements, and relatively short length connectors are required to interconnect the jack frames with the second plurality of blocks.

  • Patent number: 4715830
Abstract: The disclosure relates to an improved telephone connector block having quick clip contact element holder elements which support the contact elements in a given plane. The contact holder elements are modified so that they extend a greater distance outwardly of the quick clip terminals which they support to incorporate a conductor retaining area into which the free end of a conductor may be moved to be retained until subsequently engaged by a tool which then moves the conductor into the quick clip contact element and a corresponding strain relief area disposed immediately adjacent thereto in the respective contact holder element.

  • Patent number: 4681383
Abstract: A moulded resilient sealing device adapted to close the exposed opening in a telephone subscriber jack to prevent entry of moisture, vermin and the like. The device includes a cap-like body having a continuous peripheral edge which contacts a planar surface surrounding the plug opening, and a smaller opening at an opposite end thereof which resiliently clamps a flattened cable leading to subscriber equipment, such as a telephone handset at one end and a corresponding plug engaging jack at an opposite end. The opening is shiftable along the cable to increase the resilient force applied to the peripheral edge. The edge is also reinforced along one rectilinear side to prevent distortion by contact with the release lever of the plug, and accomodate for commerical manufacturing tolerances encountered in jacks of different manufacture.
