Abstract: Polyolefin coatings and films that may be used as release sheets, processes for the manufacture thereof and the related compositions are disclosed. The release sheets are formed from a composition of polyolefin, a dimethyl polysiloxane having functional end-groups, a vinyl silane, an agent for grafting the vinyl silane onto the polyolefin and a moisture curing agent. The composition is fed to an extruder and formed into sheet, especially by feeding a mixture having two components, one having an excess of vinyl silane and the other having less than an excess of vinyl silane, based on the amount of dimethyl polysiloxane in each component. The release sheets may be used, for instance, as the backing sheet for labels.
