  • Patent number: 6767100
Abstract: Projected systems (10, 12, 14, 16) include light source apparatuses (20, 24, 26) for programming narrow bands of unpolarized blue, green, and red light to associated reflective imaging devices that reflect selected patterns of the blue, green, and red light into a dichroic cross-combiner assembly (70, 72, 74), which recombines the light into a composite image and directs it into a projection lens (90) The reflective imaging devices are preferably micromirror displays (50, 51) having an array of pivotable micromirrors (52, 53) that direct on-state micromirror light to the projection lens and direct off-state micromirror light to a light absorbing surface (84).

  • Patent number: 5544661
Abstract: A patient monitoring system which includes a portable device and a central station. The portable device includes an ECG and a photo-plethysmograph connected to the patient; arrhythmia analysis apparatus; an expert system for determining if a pre-established critical parameter set has been exceeded; and a wireless wide area communication device for automatically contacting the central station via a public cellular phone network when the critical parameter set has been exceeded. When the central station is contacted, the patient's ECG waveforms, measurements, and trends, are sent to the central monitoring station and a two way voice channel between the patient and the central station is automatically opened.

Inventors: Charles L. Davis, Paul V. Long
  • Patent number: 4328808
Abstract: A defibrillator apparatus applies defibrillation a shock pulse to a patient at a selected energy level. The peak current magnitude of the pulse is sensed and processed to produce an indication of the value of transthoracic load resistance presented by the patient during the pulse. Also produced is an indication of the energy actually delivered to the patient by the defibrillation pulse. An alarm is activated when patient transthoracic resistance exceeds a predetermined value, thereby to warn the operator to take corrective action before again attempting defibrillation.
