  • Patent number: 6640061
Abstract: A sensing system for detecting a full condition within a waste developer system, the sensing system including a developer waste container for receiving and holding waste developer material comprising toner and carrier deposited therein from a developer system; a sensor assembly mounted exterior to the developer waste container, the sensor including a reed switch being responsive to the level of material in the developer waste container when the material in the developer waste container reaches a predetermined level.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 11, 2001
Date of Patent: October 28, 2003
    Assignee: Xerox Corporation
Inventors: Thomas E. Higgins, Paul W. Burnham, William H. Wayman

  • Patent number: 4850303
Abstract: A developer apparatus for electrostatographic printing machine includes a developer assembly having a developer housing containing a developer sump, a developer exit port at the top portion of the sump to purge developer material and a removable developer waste sump for cooperative association with the developer exit port which includes a developer storage chamber, an opening through which developer may enter the chamber which is in developer receiving engagement with the developer exit port on the housing. The developer waste sump has at least one exhaust port above and in communication with the storage chamber to permit air which has any entrained toner removed therefrom to escape from the waste sump and including a pin on the bottom of the waste sump which is releasably secured to a fastening device on the housing.

  • Patent number: 4384545
Abstract: An apparatus which develops image areas recorded on a surface by transporting a developer material into contact therewith. The apparatus includes a conductive member and an insulating member spaced therefrom. Developer material transported by the conductive member develops the solid regions of the image areas. The insulating member removes developer material from the non-image areas and develops the lines in the image areas with the developer material.

  • Patent number: 4324490
Abstract: An apparatus in which developer material is guided to the free end regions of fibers to develop a latent image. The apparatus includes a tubular member having a ramp shaped member secured thereto for guiding the developer material to the fibers extending outwardly from the tubular member in the region of the latent image. An elongated magnetic member, disposed interiorly of the tubular member, rotates so as to transport developer material about the tubular member.

  • Patent number: 4273069
Abstract: An apparatus in which a latent image is developed with particles having low conductivity. The particles are attracted to a member vibrating relative to the latent image. This increases the bulk conductivity of the particles being deposited on the latent image so as to improve development thereof.
