Abstract: A treating apparatus is shown for removing cloggants from the pores and surfaces of aeration diffuser elements used in an activated sludge treatment process or the like. The apparatus pumps a liquid acid solution through the aeration piping network of the system and out through the diffusers for reacting the acid with the cloggants in the pores of the diffusers. After the cleaning action has been completed, the apparatus produces an agitation throughout the diffuser system being cleansed as the liquid acid is being pumped out of the system and the air flow is being reestablished.

Abstract: A treating process is shown for removing cloggants from the pores and surfaces of aeration diffuser elements used in an activated sludge treatment process or the like. In this process, an acid solution is made to fill the aeration piping network, is fed through the plenum chambers that support the respective elements to be treated, and into the pores in said elements for reacting with the cloggants to be removed. The process is performed so that the acid solution fills the pores and contacts the surfaces of the diffusers and the plenums and the submerged piping network. The acid solution is reacted with the cloggants and is then agitated in contact with the diffusers and with the cloggants in the pores and on the surfaces of the diffusers to rejuvenate these elements.

Abstract: A saddle type pipe support means attachable to a base. The support is comprised of an inverted V-shaped member, a sling support located at the vertex of said inverted V-shaped member for engagement of a pipe to the support, and a clamping means for securing the pipe to the sling. The leg elements of the inverted V-shaped member include a foot on each element for engagement with and fastening to a floor or base.
