  • Patent number: 5104253
Abstract: Locking a cable socket to a cable plug in a cable assembly is affected by integrally molding a lock assembly to the socket and plug housings. A pair of overstress brackets of the socket housing prevent a resilient latch of the lock assembly from breaking if excessive force is used to move the latch from a catch post mounted on the plug housing. Also, the overstressed brackets are formed in a manner that permits a single molding operation when forming the socket housing.

  • Patent number: 4950182
Abstract: A terminal secondary lock bar effects locking of keepers in circular grooves of terminals disposed in rows above and below a lock bar receiving cavity arranged in an interior location within the housing of a plug and a socket of an in-line environmentally sealed cable assembly. The lock bar has two outer laterally directed semi-triangularly shaped fingers and at least one rectangular shaped finger disposed therebetween. The outer fingers are flexed inwardly upon insertion until a region of the cavity provides a lock reaction to the ends of the fingers which flex outwardly into the lock region of the cavity. The outer fingers are also flexed inwardly upon removal of the lock bar from the cavity.

  • Patent number: 4936791
Abstract: An environmental seal for a plug and socket connector assembly that protects interior terminals from environmental elements yet minimizes mating forces needed to mate terminals in the plug with the terminals in the socket.

  • Patent number: 4934959
Abstract: Plug and socket housings of in-line cable assemblies providing terminal receiving channels disposed so that different size terminals are placed on a common horizontal center line. The housings permit two tiers of terminals to be housed.

  • Patent number: 4923405
Abstract: A printed circuit board connector which permits relief from thermostress conditions on terminal/wire-run joints has a thermoplastic header that contains terminal holding cavities which allow the walls of the cavities to slide over a tail and contact sections of each terminal as the header material expands under the extreme high temperature transitions.
