  • Patent number: 12377597
Abstract: The invention relates to various aspects in the production of extrusion products. The properties of extruded articles are dependent significantly, in addition to their formulation, also on the setting variables and in particular on the thus resulting process variables. The setting variables and in particular the process variables thus represent a state of the extrusion process characterized as “fingerprint”. The thus claimed invention takes into account these facts and supports the operator of a production plant to detect earlier changes in quality and to systematically counteract a deterioration in the quality.

  • Publication number: 20220055283
Abstract: The invention relates to a film installation and a method for producing a film web, in particular a cast film installation or smoothing calender installation, having: a machine direction in which the film web is conveyed through the film installation; a roll apparatus which processes a film material melt and comprises at least one film-producing roll and a film-producing gap having temperature control apparatuses for thermally treating the film web; and a stretching apparatus for stretching the film web, wherein the stretching apparatus is situated downstream of the at least one film-producing roll in the machine direction, circumventing a critical cooling section. The invention further relates to the use of a roll apparatus which processes film material melt.

  • Publication number: 20190315037
Abstract: The invention relates to the determination of the optical quality of a film. On the one hand, a correlation of the obtained measured values with the production parameters, which are detected in a time-synchronous manner at the extrusion plant, is carried out. On the other hand, a correlation of said obtained measurement data with the geometric and/or functional properties of a film, for example the water vapor permeability, is carried out. The obtained correlation of data is used in the process for controlling the running production process of the film to an optimum operating point. Consequently, the resulting functional properties of a film are improved in an automated manner and met according to the desired specifications. The operator can predetermine which geometric and/or functional properties of a film are accepted as a control variable.

  • Publication number: 20190255754
Abstract: The invention relates to the detection and use of film topography (23) of a film web (13, 40, 51) produced in blow film or casting film methods for improving the quality of the film web (13, 40, 51). In particular, film topography (23) can be quantitatively detected using said the invention. In another aspect of the invention, the film topography (23) is analysed using a pattern recognition algorithm and is optionally allocated an error image (50). This information is used in order to improve the quality of the film web (13, 40, 51) by controlling action recommendations dependent on the error image and to quantitatively detect the flatness of a film web (13, 40, 51). The invention also relates to an influencing element (30) for influencing the properties of a film web (13, 40, 51) in the position where the film topography (23) is determined.

  • Publication number: 20190240889
Abstract: The invention relates to various aspects in the production and further processing of plastic sheet material, in particular a spun-bonded non-woven fabric, a melt-blown non-woven fabric, a composite non-woven fabric, a blown film, a flat film, a plastic board or a plastic panel. A core aspect in the value chain of sheet material is a method and device for providing, retrieving and using a data element for exchanging in an over-lapping step-wise manner, a plurality of different data elements for producing the end product within the value chain of the sheet material. Within the value chain, it is possible to optimize the method using said data, to improve the construction of the used machines and systems and to improve the system technology as well as method technology for producing the sheet material.

  • Publication number: 20180133946
Abstract: An installation for producing a film web and a method for operating such an installation includes a control circuit having a controller, a sensor and an actuator integrated into the ongoing film production process. The sensor is set up to sense a flatness of the film web, and the sensor is data-connected to the controller, wherein the controller is data-connected to the actuator and the actuator is actuated by the controller in order to control film production on the basis of the flatness.
