  • Patent number: 9901702
Abstract: A tracheal tube assembly includes a connector body, a cannula extending from the connector body, and an insert that provides rigidity to the connector body and retains the cannula in the connector body. The cannula has an upper end that fits between conforming tapered sections of the connector body inner surface and the insert. The insert may include features to mitigate stress on and around any secondary lumens in the cannula wall. Because the wall is thinner at the site of a secondary lumen, the connector body insert may include a recess into which the cannula wall may expand. The recess may be aligned with the secondary lumen.

  • Patent number: 9211060
Abstract: The present disclosure describes systems and methods that utilize a tracheal tube with an integral visualization device, such as a camera. The tracheal tube system may include a camera apparatus or other visualization device that is associated with a lumen formed in the wall of the tube. In addition, the camera apparatus may be positioned within a holder associated with a distal end of the tracheal tube that functions to hold and position the optical components of the camera relative to the tube and provides an acceptable profile for comfortable intubation. Further, the camera apparatus and its associated holder may include additional components, such as integral light sources and flushing or cleaning devices to remove any buildup from the camera or optical components.

  • Patent number: 8899235
Abstract: Various embodiments of tracheostomy tube assemblies including a cannula, a cap, and a flange are provided. The cannula includes a distal end and a proximal end, the distal end being adapted to be inserted into a patient's trachea. The annular cap includes an annular body having a first surface adapted to be received into the proximal end of the cannula to retain a portion of the cap in the annular body. The flange member includes a second surface that engages the proximal end of the cannula such that the proximal end of the cannula is retained between the second surface of the flange member and the first surface of the annular cap. The flange member also includes a third surface adapted to engage an inner surface of the annular body of the annular cap to retain the flange member between the annular cap and the proximal end of the cannula.
