Abstract: Disclosed is a system (100) for processing images related to a target region. The system comprises a memory (102) and a computing arrangement (104) in communication with the memory. The computing arrangement is configured to define one or more target buffers (106) in the memory of a size corresponding to one or more image parameters to be used as an input to a model implemented for the processing the images. The computing arrangement is further configured to receive at least one image (300, 400A, 400B, 400C, 400D) of the target region from a wide-angle camera (108, 202), define two or more virtual camera views (302, 304, 306, 412, 416, 418, 420, 422) and process the at least one image to generate two or more virtual images (308, 310, 312, 400E) based on the defined one or more target buffers and the defined two or more virtual camera views. The computing arrangement is further configured to implement the said model to analyse the generated two or more virtual images.

Abstract: A shark repellent system includes a barrier, a controller and at least one remote device wirelessly connected to the barrier. The barrier is configured to be positioned in the ocean and includes a plurality of electronic pods configured to be spaced apart along a length of the barrier. Each pod has an electrode attached thereto and the pods are configured to apply electrical pulses to the electrodes to form an electric field between adjacent electrodes, thereby repelling sharks from the vicinity of the electrode. The system includes a mooring arrangement for securing the barrier to a structure, vessel or coastal feature. The controller is configured to transmit firing instructions to the pods in order to coordinate the electrical pulses generated, and is configured to monitor operation or status of the pods. The remote device permits a user to remotely control and monitor the barrier, individual pods or the controller.

  • Publication number: 20240227903
Abstract: This disclosure describes, in part, a mobile apparatus for identifying items. For instance, the mobile apparatus may include a frame, a basket that attaches to the frame, a tray that attaches to the frame, and a user-facing module that attaches to the frame. Weight sensors may be located beneath the basket and the tray in order to determine the weights of items added to the mobile apparatus. The user-facing module may include imaging devices, such as cameras, that the mobile apparatus uses to perform one or more functions. For example, the mobile apparatus may use the imaging devices to identify items placed within the basket, determine locations of the mobile apparatus within a facility, and/or the like. By including these components, the mobile apparatus is able to generate data that represents the items added to the mobile apparatus, the weights of the items, and the costs of the items.
