Abstract: Contemplated mooring systems have one or more primary tethers that extend laterally and to which respective pluralities of independent secondary tethers are coupled that in turn are coupled to floating marine devices, and especially wave energy converters. The primary tethers are coupled to preferably static seabed anchors and will so provide a simple and dynamic mooring system that provides multiple operational advantages while allowing for simple deployment and maintenance.

Abstract: Contemplated methods and devices for coagulation control allow to establish a more constant dosage of required medication and to quantify/take into account patient-specific sensitivity to warfarin and Vitamin K by using logit (1/INR) as the dependent variable to so stabilize the variance across all values of INR. Moreover, it should be noted that such use simplifies the relation between INR and dose of coumarins or Vitamin K and reduces the number of parameters to be estimated for each patient.

Abstract: Contemplated compositions and methods include a catechin at a concentration effective to inactivate SARS at least by a factor of 2 log 10 units when the formulation is applied to a surface. Preferably, the catechins are provided as a complex mixture, and most preferably as a near-native catechin preparation from green tea.

Abstract: Topical compositions, and particularly hydrophobic compositions include an essential oil in an amount effective to achieve substantially complete absorption of the composition in the skin without leaving a greasy residue. Especially preferred topical compositions may also include pharmaceutically active agents (e.g., polyphenol), additional essential oils, stabilizers, etc. In further preferred aspects, contemplated compositions may delay onset, or even prevent viral eruptions on the skin, and where applied as a lipstick, will increase reddening of the lip as well as reduce chapping.

Abstract: Bacterial vaginosis is treated using methods and compositions that include one or more plant polyphenols as active ingredients. Preferred routes of administration of contemplated plant polyphenols include topical and oral administration, and particularly preferred plant polyphenols are prepared from green tea (e.g., Polyphenon E) and/or may include (?)-epigallocatechin gallate, (?)-epicatechin gallate, (?)-epigallocatechin, and (?)-epicatechin.
