  • Publication number: 20210331117
Abstract: Methods and systems for treating volatile organic compounds (VOCs) generated in a hydrocarbon treating process are disclosed. An effluent stream containing the VOCs, as well as carbon dioxide (CO2) is combined with hot exhaust gas from a turbine and provided to a waste heat recovery unit (WHRU). The WHRU is adapted to contain a catalyst bed containing oxidation catalyst capable of effecting the oxidation of the VOCs. The temperature of the catalyzing reaction can be tailored based on the position of the catalyst bed within the temperature gradient of the WHRU. The methods and systems described herein solve the problem of effecting the removal of VOCs from the effluent. Heating the CO2-containing effluent in the WHRU also lend buoyancy to the effluent, thereby facilitating its dispersal upon release.

  • Patent number: 11084794
Abstract: The present disclosure provides improved methods for controlled cyclization of peptoid dimers to form N,N?-2,5-diketopiperazines (N,N?-2,5-DKPs) with significant selectivity. In at least some examples, selectivity is based on a serendipitous conglomeration of slow exchange of amide rotamers, steric repulsion from the degree of ?-substitution, and the geometric bulk of an amine nucleophile. By varying reaction conditions, the selectivity of the reaction and formation of a particular N,N?-2,5-DKP can be switched. The cyclization works in the presence of a variety of protection groups and diverse functionalities. The teachings herein provide techniques for synthesizing N,N?-2,5-DKPs that can be readily docked with drug candidates for shuttling across the blood brain barrier. This method provides a facile way to produce substituted DKPs containing groups ready for post-modification to include docking drug candidates.

  • Patent number: 11057929
Abstract: A system for controlling access to priority access wireless resources divides a radio spectrum into first wireless resources for use by general access devices and second wireless resources for use by priority access devices. A base station receives, from a server, information concerning the first and second wireless resources, including resource entries corresponding to each of the first and second wireless resources. Upon receiving a request for available wireless resources from a general access device, the base station provides one of the resource entries corresponding to the second wireless resources. The system includes a general access device which aggregates resource entries for the first and second resources for communication with another general access device. When the general access device detects priority access to the second resource, the general access device either releases the second resource or reduces transmission power on the aggregated first and second resources.

In some examples, the desolventizer includes a housing, an ejector, and a vent. The housing contains a first tray and a second tray vertically elevated above the first tray to define a processing space. The ejector has an inlet located between the first tray and the second tray and an outlet also located between the first tray and the second tray. The vent has an inlet located between the first tray and the second tray. In operation, the ejector can draw gas from the processing space via the inlet and discharge the gas through the outlet back into the processing space, creating a recirculation loop.

  • Patent number: 11050214
Abstract: In an ultrastable laser, using a large mode-volume optical resonator, which suppresses the resonator's fast thermal fluctuations, together with the stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) optical nonlinearity presents a powerful combination that enables the ability to lase with an ultra-narrow linewidth of 20 Hz. The laser's long-term temperature drift is compensated by using the narrow Brillouin line to sense minute changes in the resonator's temperature (e.g., changes of 85 nK). The precision of this temperature measurement enables the stabilization of resonators against environmental perturbations.
